Peter King Answers His Own Question Re: S.Jackson

Sportswriters are such freakin' morons. Take this quote from Peter King in his "Monday Morning QB" Column in which he lists his top 15 teams:

13. St. Louis (8-8). Steven Jackson just had the quietest 1,500-yard rushing season I can remember.

Okay, Petey, let's think about this... What makes a 1,500 yard rushing season "quiet"? Phrased another way, who would be the ones making "noise" about a player's performance? Well, first on the list would be the sportswriters who have the platform to provide players notoriety.

So, if Petey thinks Jackson's season has been "quiet," the question follows: has Petey given Jackson the attention that is due?

Well, Petey answers that question later in his column when he gives his "All Pro" team:

RB: LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego; Larry Johnson, Kansas City. Toyed with Frank Gore.

Hmmm... No mention of Steven Jackson. Not even an "Honorable Mention" nod. Notwithstanding that Jackson lead the NFL in yards from scrimmage.

So, Petey... you've answered your own question. If Steven Jackson's season has been "quiet," its because hacks like you haven't been giving him the credit he deserves.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read that yesterday. I don't even know why I waste my time reading theat MMQB article anymore. He spends more time talking about his kids, coffee, and bragging about what celebrities he knows than writing about football that anyone cares about.
