To be honest I didn't see a difference in this game compared to other Saints games I've watched. Only difference here is that the Saints got down early because of turnovers. It's easy to get those exotic blitzes to work and look smart when you're offense is pummeling someone into the ground.

I saw a defense that looked a lot like ours, hold them for awhile and then fade... My question is will the defense be ran more by Gregg Williams or will Fisher take control and take a less risky approach.

It's easy to get those exotic blitzes to work and look smart when you're offense is pummeling someone into the ground. Do you see us pummeling any time soon?

maybe his weakness is nfc west teams?

lost to the seahawks in the playoffs

lost to the niners in the playoffs.

the year they one the superbowl, if i'm correct they didn't play anyone in the nfc west on the road to the superbowl

After seeing his decision making on the defensive end today, I'm not sure this will be a good thing. Not sure his defensive ideology is a sound one.

During Williams's time with Fisher as a DC, he was able to keep the Greatest Show on Turf (the greatest offense of all time) under 25 points (21 during the regular season, and 23 during the Super Bowl rematch). If he can do that under Fisher, I wouldn't be surprised if we see the Williams we've anticipated on the field. Plus I think we have more talent than the Saints do on defense.

Once again, as I stated to someone else in the other thread, you clearly didn't watch the full game and just saw the final score. Explain to me how you think a defense that puts it's team into a position of a one score game, after the offense hands them FIVE turnovers, is a bad performance. The Saints should have lost by 30.

That game is on New Orleans' offense, not the defense by any means.

AH, I saw the WHOLE game. WHat I saw was a defense that allowed Smith to march down the field and take the lead not once, but twice late in the game. Didn't impress me at all. Hell, this is the defense that allowed the lowly Rams to beat them. LOL

Come on Flip, you can't really believe that the Rams have more talent on D-fense.....how do you justify this?

So you are basing the defensive performance off the final five minutes of the game? So then by saying this you must think the ***** defense isn't that great, as they performed equally bad in those five minutes... See how you can spin this?

In the end, both defenses played great. NO offense gave the defense no shot with those five turnovers. Think what you want though, I for one really hope Williams comes to StL

The Saints defense was poor forcing turnovers, they thrived on that during their Super Bowl season.

People around here act like they will find this perfect candidate that has never lost a game and the highest points allowed in a game was 3 by the GSOT and he's been coaching for 20 years. Like relax.

Williams is one of the best DC's in the game, and if you dont see it, than its you're loss. Theirs a reason every analyst, commentator, and fans compliment the guys play calls and the way he runs his defense.

I loved our D this year. This is a similar one, and I'd be ecstatic if Williams came here. Except he will make the most out of his players, and actually have them develop.

might be getting ahead of ourselves a bit, Stan can put together the best coaching staff ever but last I checked they never really play a down,so I think these hires will be awesome but we still have some other player holes to fill to make all of this work.
