Peter King: Schotty will work closely with Bradford

SI’s NFL writer, Peter King, hosted a Super Bowl tweet up in Indianapolis Tuesday evening after Media Day. He answered all sort of questions, most of them NFL related sprinkled in with some baseball questions. I heard something about Theo Epstein and $20 million? Baseball buffs will have to fill me in on that.
Despite being one of a handful of women in a tent full of dudes I was still there to talk football. So I went ahead and asked Mr. King this important question:
Who do you think the Rams should get as their quarterbacks coach?
With the hire of head coach Jeff Fisher, defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, and offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer the next logical position to fill is the one closest to Sam Bradford‘s heart and arm.
He replied, “It doesn’t really matter who they hire because the offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer, will be working closely with Sam Bradford.”
But I told him I was skeptical of this arrangement seeing as how it worked out so well last year with Josh McDaniels handling both duties.
Mr. King in so many words tried to explain why the Josh McDaniels experiment failed: Lock out, resulting shortened off season, Sam Bradford’s injuries and receivers “that stunk.” And the numbers don’t lie either. The Rams finished ranked 31st in total offense and 30th in passing offense.
Mr. King expressed a more optimistic view of how Sam Bradford will do under Brian Scottenheimer in 2012. Then again Mr. King was just as optimistic or if not more about how Josh McDaniels would do in St. Louis at last year’s combine tweet up and we all know that turned out.
I hope he’s right this time.

Good to hear, though I wouldn't expect anything less.

I hope this isn't an insinuation that we won't hire a QB coach...

It's not. It is Act 1 in "Peter King Has No Freakin' Clue What The Rams Will Do: The Musical". I hear Elton John wrote some of the songs.

It alludes to that, but I doubt it. We will get a QB coach no questions, Fisher has said this. Good to hear indeed all this from Peter King about Schotty though
