After he finishes meeting with the Green Bay Packers today, free-agent defensive tackle Ryan Pickett is scheduled to visit the Buffalo Bills as he weighs potential contract offers from three NFL teams.

The Packers want to sign Pickett, a first-round draft pick of the St. Louis Rams in 2001, as a run stopper. There were no signs Sunday night that the Packers were close to signing Pickett, though a deal could be completed before he leaves town.

The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Pickett, 26, has started for the past four years for the Rams, who have offered him a deal that includes a signing bonus of about $5 million.

The Packers are courting Pickett as a possible replacement for nose tackle Grady Jackson, 33, also an unrestricted free agent.

The Packers are considering trying to retain Jackson if Pickettís price is too high. Jackson hasnít visited other teams but likely will draw interest after the first flurry of free agency ends in the next few days.
