Pisa, Pisa, Pisa what are going to do with you?
I think it is safe to say that no one is going to doubt Pisa's aggression and effort. I think it is also safe to say he quite popular among the fans. It has become more evident that spoon has to move to the weak side, but where does that leave Pisa. He is quite undersized (222 pounds) in a system that requires bigger LBs. In a new system and maybe not starting any longer what are we going to do with Pisa. He is due 3.25 this year, 3.5 in 2010 and, 4.0 in 2011. What do we do release him, do we try and trade him to a Tampa 2 team, do we keep him as a reserve, or do we try to start him somewhere.
What do you guys think

I think the best case scenario may be to restructure him or to release him and resign him like we did to James Hall.

I would explore all trade options for draft pick or restructure contract and make him special teams captain.

Re: Pisa, Pisa, Pisa what are going to do with you?
I was about to say that. Was reading 39thebeast's post, and I was thinking, hmmm...try him at strong safety. Then I scroll down, and what do I see? Move him to Strong Safety!!!
He could play more as a "4th" linebacker instead of a more coverage safety. This could be either good or bad. Atogwe and the corners need some help because our secondary is not stellar. I do think that our run stopping game will be better with 8 guys in the box.
Who would our linebackers be though? We could try to get a MLB in the draft, moving Witherspoon to the weak side, but then who would man the strong side? Could we get Curry to play our strong side, and then pick a MLB in the later rounds, like Mckillop, Jason Phillips, Daniel Holtsclaw, or Jaspar Brinkley?

Re: Pisa, Pisa, Pisa what are going to do with you?
Two things stick out to me:
1. As we all saw last year, Pisa struggles in pass coverage, putting him in the defensive backfield would be one thing: murder! Watching the defense that the Giants played last year, the blitz packages they run requires the DB's to be able to hold their own and in many cases play mad coverage...Pisa in man coverage against Larry Fitzgerald....well I think you see where I am going here.
2. I can't see us drafting Curry because he looks better slated to be an OLB, and I thought that Mr. Irrelevant played well last year in his game against the dolphins....was I the only one that saw that? Why not give him a legit shot in off season before we draft a MLB high in he draft, but I do agree we do need depth at the position.

im all for giving mr irrelevant david vobora a legit shot but lets be realistic here, he's never going to be that big dominating centerpiece we are looking for.

Re: Pisa, Pisa, Pisa what are going to do with you?
see if anyone would give draft pick/s for him..
if not,im not sure really ..we could keep him..is not like we have a steller group of linebackers.
Vobora may have some potential...but id hate to see us throw all our eggs in one basket with him,the way we did last year with Culberson!
we should definately think about drafting Curry..our linebackers as a whole are the weakest link on our D...IMO.
for those that think Pisa can play at SS...methinks ya should play a lil less madden and watch more real football.
the need for a true SS is a big priority.

He was a pretty consistent player last year. I wouldn't want to see him go. He still has it.

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Re: Pisa, Pisa, Pisa what are going to do with you?
No offense but that is the stupidest thing I've heard, Pisa is at best below average in pass coverage, he would get burnt left and right. Like that other guy said this isn't Madden it's real football. Pisa is a backup on any good Defense or special teams capt. I really like the guy but he hurt us too much with bad coverage or missed assignments and blown tackles our linebackers make all the opposing teams highlight reels.
