Re: Pisa on Sirius NFL Radio this afternoon
Highlights from the interview...
-Things have changed in 4 years with team. Pisa said he wanted to continue being a Ram because he knew they had chemistry but just needed some more pieces.
-Linehan/Haslett wanted him around a lot and told management, or so he thinks. Says he doesn't know much about how it happens, he leaves it to his agent.
-Thinks he fits the mold of the kind of player Linehan wants on this team, a guy who will go out there and play hurt and not quit.
-Bottom line - we're winning. Everyone wants to be part of a good thing, and he knew this was a good thing, but it's amazing to see it come to fruition.
-Could be a statement game for the Rams this weekend, but for the Rams, their attitude is the next game is the most important. Great character team who are all focused on winning.
-Holmgren is a great coach w/ great system. Hurting in the running game but make up for it with receivers.
-Chicago is a great defense and everyone is trying to be as good as they are. Thinks Holmgren offense vs. Haslett defense will be a great battle.
-Seattle O-line hasn't changed that much, still a good quality O-line. Couple new guys, but emphasized the system. Had some bad breaks protecting the QB but they've done well.
-Has great respect for Bulger, has ice flowing through his veins. Has self-control to control emotions. Has a great talent.
-Expect to see a good bit of Deion Branch. Said Seattle is banged up a bit at the receiver spot, they'll be prepared to see Branch.
-Stevens brings a comfort level with Hasselbeck, but if he's in, oh well. It's all about reacting and playing off each other.
-Thing that has changed the most for the Rams from 2005 to 2006 is an improved focus.
