    Re: Pittman

When S-Jax went down we looked horrible, we really couldn't run the ball. I think we need a change of pace back and a true number 2 guy who can contribute if S-jax goes or at least be a decent committee back along with Darby in case of an S-Jax injury. I don't Pittman is that guy. I think we need to add a fast explosive elemnt to our backfield it is a 2 back league these days. Rookies like Felix Jones and Chris Johnson really added and explosive element to the power games of Marion Barber and LenDale white.

Guys, aren't we all forgetting about our very own, Brian Leonard?

I went to the niner game, and was pretty impressed with Darby. He seemed like he was running faster and harder than almost any player out there. Thats not saying that there aren't better backups out there, just that we dont really have the luxury to be picky about our backup running back when we have so many holes at stating positions that need to be addressed. I think darby will suffice until we address other areas.

I wonder if Jackson is going to get his fullback that he asked for

Another RB isn't my concern Darby/Pittman are not whats on my mind...the O-line is. Doesn't matter who you have as RB, without a decent O-line, the RB possition is irrelavent

So hopefully the Rams will be looking in the draft and free agency to shore up the front first before looking at RB

    Re: Pittman

The forgotten variable in this equation is Brian Leonard. While BL is clearly a bust as a FB, he could be a decent option as a backup RB. If I were the new coaching staff I'd tell him to stop trying to bulk up, get to his normal playing weight and maximize his speed and quickness.

He's under a rookie contract, so the Rams have nothing to lose. They might as well see if he can fill a role.

By the time the draft rolls around, Lane will be bigger than most OG's in the league.

    Re: Pittman

Leonard and Darby would be a decent committee approach to replace S-Jax if he goes down when if you think about it.
