Re: Player Of The Game????
To think Wilkins was t-h-i-s close to a record 7th FG!
FERTER, yes, I noticed those JW kickoffs that ended as touchbacks. Nice!

Re: Player Of The Game????
Jeff WILKINS - he scored all our points and don't forget deep kickoffs (which wasn't case in past seasons)!
YES, I AM HAPPY!!!

Re: Player Of The Game????
I voted for Little, he got the defense rollin with some big plays. But I have to say Witherspoon is right there. This is the kind of defense that just makes me smile. GO RAMS

Re: Player Of The Game????
I agree. I found myself actually disappointed at first that Wilkings didn't make 7 of 7, but only 6, because he's just so good you automatically expect him to make EVERY kick. I think the great kickoffs could be because he has rested his legs so much in preseason, I seem to recall Linehan putting emphasis on just that in one of the preseason interviews.

Re: Player Of The Game????
I voted other...the defense was just too solid as a unit to single out one person. A chain is only as strong as it's weakest link, and every link was strong yesterday.
Also every person on that list deserves a nod because they all played amazing. Had Wilkins not missed the 41 yarder, he would've gotten my vote. I guess I'm being silly when I say, because he is so consistantly great, I expect him to make every attempt.Last edited by RamFan_Til_I_Die; -09-11-2006 at 06:48 PM. Re: Player Of The Game????
Jim Haslett gets the game ball. Quite the turn around from last years D. As far as players, Money and Will were the difference in the win, with Little getting an honorable mention.
This space for rent...

Re: Player Of The Game????
Wilkins. Okay he missed one, but he also hit one from over 50.
Great work.
That play by Witherspoon for the Brown interception was incredible though. That'll be on highlight films for a while.

And to think that, technically speaking, Wilky DID, "for a brief moment in time and space" make all 7 FGs!I agree. I found myself actually disappointed at first that Wilkings didn't make 7 of 7, but only 6, because he's just so good you automatically expect him to make EVERY kick... -- R.O.D.
That one FG denied twice -- the one that ultimately bounced away from the right goal post and recorded as a 'missed FG' -- had firstly been considered GOOD, before being annulled by a penalty.
During the last minutes of the game Vs. Broncos yesterday, in a way, I was hoping that the Money Man would be given the opportunity to attempt his EIGHTH FG, to finish 7 of 8, 21 points in all.
But, as mentioned in other posts, that is okay. Coach played it smart, safe and he secured the win with 18 humble points.
