Playoff picture now
I saw a NFL Playoff picture chart on NFL.COM where they had rams winning division and hosting Saints. If we beat Saints we would then face Atlanta in Atlanta and that winner advancing for shot at Super bowl. I was smiling so much at that scenario.

Re: Playoff picture now
If we can beat the Saints in NO then we can beat them at home, but the way things are shaping we probably get blown out, according to experts, and IF we do get in the playoffs and host the Saints we can surprise them and move on. Really though at this point, enjoy your enthusiasm, we have to take it one game at a time. HOPEFULLY we can at least enjoy a game or two in January.

Don't get your hopes up. As much as I love the Rams, we have not beaten a team with a winning record yet.

Re: Playoff picture now
Playing with the "Yahoo NFL Playoff Scenario Generator", (search for it on Google), Rams fans should be rooting for Seattle to beat SF this weekend, I believe. That knocks SF out of the picture, and it pretty much comes down to the winner of our final game in Seattle, even if we lose to SF. Otherwise, if SF can get into a tie, they will hold all the tie breakers. Seattle has the tie breaker over the Rams. Rams are last in any tie scenario, which counts wins in our division.

Re: Playoff picture now
zgare, I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you. We absolutely want the whiners to win this weekend, for the simple fact that we have a two game lead over them at the moment and still have one game against them, at home.
If we lose and they win this weekend, then we stay at the top of the division, at 6-7, and they would still be one game back at 5-8. The other way around, and we would need to win in NO to keep pace with Seattle, who we play in Seattle. With SF playing QB by committee, and in the dome the next time we meet, I very much would rather play the whiners for the division crown, rather than Seattle.I believe!

We need SF to win against the hawks guys. After the niners the hawks play ATl and @TB. I see them losing those games. The niners face @SD and @STL. They will probably lose those games too.

Re: Playoff picture now
I suggest trying the scenario generator with likely winners. I was surprised myself that we need Seattle to win this weekend. SF has beaten us once. If we tie with them, we lose the tiebreaker. We have beaten Seattle once. If we go into the last game one game behind seattle, one game ahead, or tied, we still have to win that final game to win the division. If SF gets into the mix, we lose.

Re: Playoff picture now
I don't think San Francisco holds all the tiebreakers. They currently have the edge in division games, but that's partly because they have only played 3 games against division opponents. If they beat Seattle but lose to us, that would leave us tied at 1-1 in head-to-head and 3-2 in division, and by my count, we hold the tiebreakers in record against common opponents and against conference opponents. Plus, if we beat the ***** in Week 15, we could make sure it was impossible to tie us simply by winning one other game this season.
