Playoffs?

As hard as it is please try and vote with an unbiased answer.

I honestly believe our Rams are a playoff team for the upcoming 2007 season.

Why?

We have the talent, period.
Starting training camp with only one distraction. (F. Brown suspension)
Orlando Pace, Torry Holt & Pisa Tinasomoa are ready.
Additions of key personal. (T. Johnson, J. Hall, D. Hall, D Bennett, R. McMichael,etc)
2nd season under the new regime (Linehan & Haslett)
Addressed the D line in the draft. (Most notably A. Carriker)
We finished 8-8 last season and missed the playoffs narrowly.
I see us going 9-7 at the very least.

We have the talent no doubt in my mind. We have enough that in my opinion it will be a tragedy (as much of a tragedy as you can have in sports) and the season will be a complete and udder failure if we don't make the playoffs.

I'll vote a very tentative yes. I like the defensive players we have brought in over the last two off-seasons, but I still don't know how well we'll hold up against the run. I don't think I could justify putting us among the league's elite teams until I see more from the defense. That said, we don't have to be an elite team to make the playoffs; we just have to be better than the rest of the division. And that we are.

I've got to agree Goldenfleece. I think the D will progress but I'm not convinced there will be a huge turnaround on that side of the ball just yet. But they will be better on that side and I think the team's chances are better than not, that they'll still be standing in January.

I say yes, but I'm curious as to how much our defense can improve. I expect the unit to get better towards the end of the year with more experience.

Not making the playoffs this year, should be considered a dissappointment for the Saint Louis Rams. We have the weapons; A newly signed veteran quarterback, a well stocked receiving corp, top notch running game, huge front line; Offensively the Rams should put up the numbers that rivals GSOT. The offense will have to lead the charge for this team chances of making a playoff appearance.
The hope for our defense is health, staying healthy, getting better and gelling as cohesive unit. Things look bright as our 1st round draft pick is signed and is in camp and ready to start a very promising career with the Rams. Simply put, we have the talent, yes, however, we also have depth. We have at least two credible reserve offensive linemen, a second RB, three #1 recievers, two starting TE's just on offense. On Defense, we have four starting LB's, have a third safety, and have a fair enough set of corners three or maybe four deep. The problem is the D line, where if we have injuries, we'll have problems. They need to stay healthy and be able to keep pressure on the QB to keep it off of our secondary.
