Playoffs…. Playoffs!!!

4-4 at the half waypoint. With all the injuries and chaos so far this season, 4-4 is about right. I took a look at the playoff picture for the remainder of the season based on strength of schedule.

NFC East: Up for grabs

Giants 5-2: lost head to head
Home opponents record: 15-14
Away opponents record: 18-17
Comment: Soft schedule, IMO Playoff team

Cowboys 5-3: play them Jan. 1st
Home opponents record: 17-13
Away opponents record: 18-10
Comment: Tough schedule, last game of the season might be huge

Eagles 4-3: play them Dec 18th
Home opponents record: 20-16
Away opponents record: 15-14
Comment: Tough schedule, IMO miss the playoffs

Redskins 4-3: play them Dec 4th
Home opponents record: 21-16
Away opponents record: 15-14
Comment: Tough schedule, IMO miss the playoffs

NFC North: Only division winner will make the post season

Bears 4-3: Good defense, rookie QB
Home opponents record: 13-15
Away opponents record: 14-21
Comment: Soft schedule, IMO defense will make them a playoff team

Lions 3-4: QB problems
Home opponents record: 15-14
Away opponents record: 14-22
Comment: Soft schedule, IMO miss the playoffs

NFC South: Up for grabs, this division could have 3 playoff teams

Falcons 5-2: Solid football team
Home opponents record: 13-16
Away opponents record: 20-15
Comment: Tough road schedule, IMO playoff team

Panthers 5-2: Solid football team, good defense
Home opponents record: 17-12
Away opponents record: 19-18
Comment: Tough home schedule, IMO playoff team

Buccaneers 5-2: Tough defense, OK offense
Home opponents record: 21-16
Away opponents record: 16-13
Comment: Tough schedule, IMO miss the playoffs

NFC West: 2 horse race

Seahawks 5-2: Solid team, always ripe for a collapse
Home opponents record: 18-11
Away opponents record: 11-25
Comment: Soft road schedule, tough home schedule

Rams 4-4: Getting healthy after the bye
Home opponents record: 12-16
Away opponents record: 13-16
Comment: Soft schedule, need to win all remaining home games

IMO, realistically the RAMS really need to win their division, but have a chance at a wildcard spot.

East: Giants
North: Bears
South: Panthers
West: RAMS or Seahawks
Wildcard’s: Falcons, Seahawks or RAMS

The Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Buccaneers all have tough schedules, the Lions just aren’t that good. The games against the Eastern division will be the difference between making the playoffs or not.

The key games: next week at the Seahawks obviously, home against the Redskins and Eagles, on the road against the Cowboys. The Cowboys game on the last game of the season might be the one that will either get us into the post season or prevent us from getting in.

GO RAMS
GET HEALTHY

A classic Rams , Cowboys playoff style game.

Revenge sounds good to me. :clanram:

Re: Playoffs…. Playoffs!!!

Good enough to beat a good team at home.

Good enough to play every team tough. Even without the key starters.

Remaining schedule is favorable and the Rams have a realistic chance to win the majority of them. Most of the tough games are at home.......

Re: Playoffs…. Playoffs!!!

I'm always skeptical about what someone may consider a soft schedule. Ask Tampa if the game last Sunday in SF was a soft game. Ask New Orleans if playing GB and getting smacked 52-3 was a soft game.

In the NFL, any team is dangerous. The key to the Rams is turnovers and defense. If the defense can contain the run, not necessarily stop it (I've given up hope for that one) but just contain it is a major plus.

Re: Playoffs…. Playoffs!!!

11/13 @Seahawks
Seahawks have only lost 3 games at home in the past 2 1/2 years [2x to the Rams and once to the Cowboys...is this last year's team?]

11/20 Cardinals
Cardinals...everyone's media-darling has been sucking it up and making all the 'experts' look like chumps.

11/27 @Texans
hahahahahahaha

12/4 Redskins
Is this the team that started our 3-0 or was shut-out for the only the 2nd time in Joe Gibb's tenure?

12/11 @Vikings
hahahahahahaa...

12/18 Eagles
This team is not last year's NFC Championship team, but they are still explosive with TO and McNabb

12/24 *****
They beat a good TB Defense with FG's...

1/1 @Cowboys
One of the better defense's in the league against the pass and the rush

I think it's easy to see them going 4-4. They need to go at least 10 wins for a secured playoff spot, but i don't see them getting the 6 wins when 2 of the tougher games are on the road.
