I gotta say that we should feel very priveledged to have seen two outstanding WR's play in their prime for the Rams, and both are class off the field to. Personally I can't seperate them and both will be remembered as legends..

I went with Holt. Holt has been the more consistent player over his career. Both will be in the Hall and that’s all that really matters

Re: The poll that could tear The Clan asunder!

I went with Bruce and interesting arguments have been made for both players. For me it boils down to the players around them. Holt has played his whole career with big time players around him. Where Bruce hasn't. In my opinion Bruce was a big time player before '99 on a terrible team and that is what gives him a slight edge. On a side note; isn't it great that we are having this debate about two Hall of Fame receivers that are playing together. Not too many fans could say that and I for one feel lucky that these two have played at the same time.

I've got to go with the only LA Ram left. Holt never had to endure the countless losing seasons that Bruce did, and as it has been pointed out, he had to do this with numerous questionable QB's before the 99' season.

It is a good sign though that we have two of the best WR's to ever play this game on our team.:l

I don't think it does boil down to the players around you. Just because you have good players around doesn't make you any less of a player yourself. I give it to Torry Holt. 6 years of 1300+ yards, Holt also has the NFL record for average yards a game, above Randy Moss and Jerry Rice. Bruce was/is great and should go to the Hall but I still say Holt's better. If we really wanna know, stick them on other teams, there's only one ball on the field. It also says a lot for Ol' Henry, to coach up two HOF WRs, and Kevin Curtis, who could still make some probowls...man he's good, glad we kept him around.

Anyone who can perform at a high level with the likes of Chris Miller and Tony Banks throwing the pigskin to him is better.

And who says Holt wouldn't have. I see it just the opposite......Bruce put up his numbers when there were no other options. Of course he was going to put up numbers (led team in receiving 3 times); they played behind ALL the time, so it had to go to the air. And who else was going to catch it....Kinchen? Kennison? Wright? JT Thomas?

Holt however (led team in receiving 6 straight years), has ALWAYS had Bruce to share with, and still shines.

It's funny....I'm glad we're having this debate, but somewhere in the greater D.C area, Skin fans are having a chuckle with us. It's the same with them....who's better? Monk or Clark? The answer is the Redskins are better because of Monk and Clark.

Truth is, the winner in this debate is neither Bruce nor Holt, but the Rams.

Before Issac started getting injured, he was on par with Jerry Rice for a number of years.

Torry although a great receiver on his own, benefitted tremendously from Isaac being on the other side early in his career.

    EDGE: Isaac Bruce

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Since the playoffs previous to and including SUPERBOWL XXXVI the NFL has instituted new rules regarding the play of an NFL teams secondary. Both the RAMS and COLTS complained how the Patriots were mugging their receivers thus forcing the NFL rules committee to adjust some of the rules.

All the teams in the NFL prior to this situation were using the same tactics maybe just not as obvious as the Patriots. Also the Patriots did it on the big stage more than once which drew all the attention.

What I'm getting at is that Bruce played alot of seasons before the new rules were instituted.

Another reason my edge as slim as it is goes to BRUCE.

You're not wrong, but an interesting thing has happened to the "big stat" receivers since that time. In the history of the NFL, there has been 42 different instances of a receiver with a 100+ reception season. Twelve of those have happened since the rule change (2.4 per season). But of the remaining 30 seasons, 26 were from 1994-2001 (3.3 per season). Only 4 times, prior to 1994, did a receiver notch 100+ receptions.

So compared to the previous years, the number of 100+ reception receivers in the NFL actually went DOWN after the rule change.

Holt could have started his rookie year, He immediately made an impact. I love Bruce, but Holt is a beast. Plain and simple.

Re: The poll that could tear The Clan asunder!

At first I thought the question was now, not at the peak. I voted for Holt and after thinking about it and reading the replies I would still vote for Holt. Nothing against Bruce, probably the best receiver we have had to date....but, re-reading the question it is, "at their peak" I am not sure we have seen Torry's peak yet. Remember that catch he made last season where he tipped it a couple of times, never taking his eyes off it and and finally catching it and running for a touchdown? I flash right back to that and I gotta say Holt...

Re: The poll that could tear The Clan asunder!

Both need each other. Most great receivers have another along side them that are just as good or compliment the other. Along the same lines, it can also be said that it matters who is throwing them the ball. Without Warner and Miller's deep ball the first few years Bruce would be nothing but another could have been receiver. And I truly believe that if it wasn't for the success post 1998. Bruce would have been an after thought. Loved, but not truly great.

I for one can not vote on this issue. There is no I in team, and too many what if's.

Bruce was great playing all by himself.....Holt is great because of playing with Bruce. I guess we'll really find out in a couple of years when Bruce finally does retire and Torry plays his final seasons without Ike on the other side.

This is a really hard thing to decide....its like saying who you love most your mom or your dad!!

i voted Torry BIG GAME Holt,Bruce has done great and will always be the Rev. but look at the stats yes Holt has had KW and MB throwing the pigskin to him but hes also had Faulk,Bruce,Hakim,Jackson,Proehl,Curtis,Williams(first time out!)Conwell,McDonald all pretty good weapons that took their fair share of catches and still Holt has huge numbers....
