Red face Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

With the help of my good pal Hubison I am going to try and start a thread about some Positive aspects of the Rams. Now please dont put sarcastic positive thoughts

I for one am excited about the Free agency period that starts here in about 6 weeks. The rams have been bringing in some good talent and I hope they make their mark again this offseason.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

Really- the only real consistant positive from this season was Will Witherspoon. Guys like Carriker and Ryan showed promise.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

The #2 pick offers us the best chance at bringing in an immediate AND long-term solution to one of our trouble spots. Not since '97 (Orlando Pace) have we had this great an opportunity.

A lot of our young defenders look like legitimate answers (Atogwe, Carriker, Ryan, Bartell, etc.)

While some pieces are old, our most dangerous Offensive threat is a mere 25 years old.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

Yeah our defense is young and looks really slick. We even have a couple of young guys on our Oline blocking for Jackson.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

I think our draft choice is worthy of a positve thought, barring something unforseen,we will get a guy(Chris Long) who will make an impact from the start of training camp and my son and I will be attending the draft this year so the ClanRam Forum will be represented in NYC.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

I believe it is possible for the Rams to have a good 2008 season because I subscribe to the idea that the talent in the NFL is not much different among teams. So if the Rams can stay healthy, and Linehan can install a creative offense via a new OC, and the coaching staff can instill confidence into the players this whole thing could turn around.

Fair enough. Most definitely positive thinking. :r

Thanks Jquarando for this + Rams thread. I like what HUbison said in the 'other' thread:

...so for a slight breeze of fresh air, it is nice to see and/or be on this side.

I'm glad we'll most likely see a healthy Pace return to full form -- actually, probably all of our injured Rams -- and should come up with a stronger (not just physically) OL.

Defensively, we should be a half notch to a full notch improved over '07 by virtue of a better DL and, hopefully, a better secondary. Seems we have a better potential in kick return players too; now if we only could keep the opponents from big returns and scoring!

Of course, figuring out just HOW in all of this is the challenge. Certainly a positive challenge.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

More good news...., the OL got injured so early and often in the season that they will mostly be healed and ready for OTAs and summer camp. This could be a great opportunity for them to develop some chemistry and continuity for next season.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

Our defense is young and improving.

Our O-line is young and i think players like Setterstrom and Cog can stabilize the interior positions for years to come.

True.

We also have a good running back. Even though he was injured for a few games, he still topped 1000 yards and more.

We have the #2 draft pick

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

The OL should be healthy, the secondary should be better with Hill coming back, Pisa will be back, and the DL should better with Leonard back and the rookies having a year under their belt. The high draft picks will also be nice. We will have a new OC which should be a good thing.

If all this comes together the best thing of all will be I get to post positive things about the Rams and get negative reps from AvengerRam. Those are always fun. Hey don't feel bad people that have a different point of view then AR tend to get negative reps. He gave me one today as well. Nice post by the way I tried to rep you but it said I have to spread it around. I thought I would give AR a negative rep for his dust cropping of negative reps and the one he gave to you. I think I must have gave him a positive one recently because it would not let me rep him. I very rarely give negative reps.

Re: Positive thoughts about our Saint Louis Rams

This is good stuff guys. Lets keep it up and always remember that no matter how crummy things look this is the NFL and problems can be fixed and we already have a lot of solutions to a good majority of these problems.
