    Possible trade of Fitzpatrick

Did any one else see this?

    "QB or not QB?

Early last week, the Rams verbally agreed to trade reserve quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick of Harvard to the Green Bay Packers. Then, the very next day Rams executive Jay Zygmunt informed the Packers that the trade was off, no explanation provided. You have to wonder why the Packers are looking, considering how well Aaron Rodgers, the former first-round pick, has looked in many team drills."

This was on Fox Sport's web page by John Czarnecki. I wonder if the change of heart was due to his performance Saturday.

Either that or it's so crazy that it never really happened and some moron pulled it out of mid air?

I wouldn't want to see it happen, but if it's true, who or what were we going to get in return?

This may be more of a reflection of how much Ragone has not impressed. He was traded for specifically, and hasn't been able to secure the #3 job in over a week of practice over the inexperienced yet promising Fitzpatrick. Perhaps Zyggy did see something from Fitz in one day's practices that made him reconsider, or perhaps Ragone just hadn't impressed enough for him to really be able to make this deal.

That doesn't sound like a very plausible scenario Nick buddy. I mean one day Zyggy wants to trade, goes to one practice, and then changes his mind? I would hate to think the Ram's front office is so whimsical when evaluating players and making personnel moves. I'm really suspect of any blog post, regardless of its perceived legitimacy. Maybe this is all a hoax, a rumor, or wishful thinking. With the circus that is Green Bay's quarterback situation, this would have been huge news that would have been picked up nationally.

I never said it was plausible. Simply saying that if it's true, it may be more a reflection of the performance of Ragone than Fitz. Just offering some food for thought.

I would hate to think that myself. But, while I've been fairly happy with the front office since the debacle that was the Martz situation, recent history has shown that the guys that make up our front office are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

My biggest question would be......WHY THE FLIP IS AN ACCOUNTANT MAKING TRADE DECISIONS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

If the Rams are going to trade a back up QB let it be Ragone. Linehan may have made a mistake bringing this guy on board. Of course this all predicated on what we would be getting in return.

I think we should trade Zyggy for a Happy Meal and an Oreo Cookie blast.

Why not make that trade? Fitz will never be a first team QB in the league, and probably will struggle to be the first option at backup.

How in the world can anyone on this board draw any conclusions based on what they have read about one practice scrimmage. separate post coming on this topic, guys here are going way over the top conclusion wise on way too little data.

From the 3 and half games we saw Fitz play last year, in his rookie year I might add, how do you know he will never be a starting QB? There is no way to come to that conclusion after one year.

Well, you are correct on that but from what I saw outside of the Texans game I wouldn't bet the farm that he will be.
