I'm not so sure about him after Sunday's game. However, they are a young defense with some great talent.Mike Zimmer, 49, defensive coordinator, Dallas Cowboys[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Potential candidates for Rams' head coaching job
Just a couple of thoughts on Zimmer. He's not a bad DC at all. He had some decent defenses in the time he's had the position without much talent. He was a little preoccupied with stopping the run after his first season after we were shredded repeatedly that year. Also, until this year we've been constantly searching for CBs. We've gone through more CBs than QBs the past 5 or 6 years.
He learned the 3-4 this year without any prior experience, and by the time we sort of played you, we had 7 players either new to the team, 1st year starters or rookies in Fujita, Glenn, Davis, Shanle, Fowler, Ware and Spears. Throw Canty in there as well. He did very well in my opinion under the circumstances.
He's smart, and seems to me to be well liked by his unit, tough, but not dictatorial. My main knock on him as a DC is he's not very creative with his blitz packages.
As a HC, I don't know. He almost took the Nebraska job a couple of years ago and was given a raise to stay. They must have seen something in him, because he was their choice over Callahan initially and Callahan had some HC experience.
Congratulations on the win. Not to detract from your defense, but our OL was so pathetic I thought I got sucked into a time warp and was watching the Fearsome Foursome.
Good luck in the offseason!

I like Herman Edwards. He is a good HC that struggled this year because it seemed as if the whole 1st Team O and D was hurt.
