Power Ranking Are Out!
Week 1 NFL power rankings
Peter Schrager /Fox Sports
(16) Rams-No crazy double reverse plays; No going for it on 4th and 10; No inexplicable onside kicks — the Mike Martz era is officially over in St. Louis
Looks like we're on the rise! We started out at 23!

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
They can rank us wherever they want .. the only thing that really matters is the Win/Loss column!
I have yet to see a stat which takes into consideration inuries or weather conditions....
Besides.. I like flying under the radar. It can lead to a Super Bowl!!

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
Getting a jump in the rankings isn't a bad thing, but one game doesn't put anything into real perspective. We need a few more games to acurately guage where we are.
As far as flying under the radar, if the defense plays like they did against the Broncos next week, we'll become a huge blip.

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
The Rankings are a bunch of bullcrap. It's based on variouls peoples opinions, and how a team did last year. They don't base it on stats. The only team that gets #1 in my opinion should be the team that won the Super Bowl. You only get that week one. After that it should be based upon record, and Stats on Both Offense and Defense.
There is no way a team with a 3-2 record should be over a team with a 5-0 record unless the 3-2 team has a diffucult record.

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
That might be true, but it gets individuals such as us in a position that makes us either hopeful or doubtful. In a situation where we are ranked as high as 3 or as low as 16 you have to admit sure gets you excited! So all the while they may be what I quoted you they're still indicative of what a team is looking like according to what we hope to be non-bias individuals, even though we know everyone has a favorite team.
So Mr. Jigga enjoy the good publicity we get and hope it is true and we can make plans to watch football throughout January!!!

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
I agree with jjigga...
Rankings, just like the NCAA football rankings, mean nothing. How can you rank teams after one game? Rankings would only mean something if every team played every other team, then you're comparing apples to apples. Otherwise, it's just fodder for the readers. One "power" poll has the Rams as high as 3rd. Please. I love my Rams, but I'm not ready to declare them the 3rd best team in the NFL. It's just something to get you talking.
...Wait a minute, we are talking about it, aren't we?

Re: Power Ranking Are Out!
That means we care or we wouldn't look. My point is that thier rankings are indicative of how a team is progressing. Of course a team could drop if they stop progressing. When we were ranked high we were good. Look at the whiners sorry bunch, they are ranked low because they are a below average team. Colts are ranked high because they are conteneders!!! :x
