Practice Squad Announced!

Former University of Illinois fullback Russ Weil has been signed to the Rams’ practice squad. Others re-signed are defensive end C.J. Ah You, running back Lance Ball, offensive lineman Dustin Fry, linebacker Marc Magro, wide receiver Derek Stanley and cornerback Darius Vinnett.

The eighth spot will go to safety Eric Bassey once cornerback Ricky Manning Jr. signs his contract today.

All the practice squad members were in training camp with the Rams.

I really like it. Bassey and Vinnett are good special teamers. Magro is a pretty good LB, Frye...well I havent lost hope on him, Ah You is a good practice squad guy, Im happy Weil is here, and the only people I would really be upset if they werent on here...Stanley and Ball, are!

Glad to see Ball made the squad and that Bassey will be kept around. Quite sad that Hagans hasn't been added, i hope he catchs on else where.

I still have hope for Fry as well, though I can understand why he didn't make the roster this year, he's not as good as the new rookies. Maybe next year.

Good to know who Manning is displacing. Bassey's fine, he needs some time before he's an active member anyway. Besides, we have 3 pretty good safeties(if you count Chavous...), so he's not as needed.

I realy like how the practice squad looks, what is the max amount of players that can be in the practice squad.

Update: The Chiefs signed Marques Hagans to their practice squad.

Im glad for Lance, he deserved to be on the practice squad he is a good running back. Got the most rushing yards this preseason out of anyone on the team. As for Manning Jr., does anyone know if he is any good is he a better than Bassey who he is pretty much replacing?

Manning Jr is much better....If his heart is in it and he really wants to be, he'd be better than any CB we have.

Sounds like exactly the players that I would have picked for the practice squad out of the guys we released, it's a very good selection. Hopefully a couple of them will make the roster and make a difference for us next year.
