That last deep throw wasn't perfect but it hit him in the arms and bounced off his chest. You have to catch that ball.

I had high expectations of Jason Smith heading into this season, I believed with proper o line coaching he could live up to his draft status. After today I'm ready to beging exploring other avenues, such as moving him inside to guard. Kick Dahl out to left tackle, Saffold to right tackle.

I realize this was just one preseason game, and it appeared the colts were throwing a bit more at us then a vanilla defense, not to mention freeney and Mathis are probowl pass rushers, but this offensive line has to shape up, or Sam isn't going to finish this year and we'll be selecting an olineman in the top five next April.

I agree: Smith has to be moved. Mathis and Freeney are probowlers but Jerry Hughes is a borderline bust and Smith didn't even smell his jersey as Hughes blew past him to get the sack.

Has anyone seen one redeeming thing from this game? I mean...one?

How many years do you think Fisher will get to turn this around?

No. I feel like we should be running the first string offense until they *do something* not just two series. Bradford looked fine, but I expected that. The rest was more of the same.

-Bradford looked solid in the short passing game.
    -Steven Jackson was running hard.
-Starting receivers and tight ends caught the ball well.
-First team defensive line looked dangerous.
-Greg the Leg made his field goal.
-No serious injuries (knock on wood)

In the preseason, you'll hear commendators say; "teams do not want to show the other teams anything..."

    The Rams were perfect here.

    They showed absolutely nothing.

The problem for me is these are all things I expected. The new offensive players didn't really show up, our offense didn't score a touchdown (talking about first team) and the offensive line looked frightening. I just feel like what I saw was more of the same.

Sam looked good moving the ball down the field. The one deep pass we tried the pocket collapsed and he couldnt really step into the throw.

Receivers have made some nice grabs. Kendricks actually held on to the ball and Pettis had some nice snags. Smith did some nice work.

The defensive line got good if not great penetration. The linebackers just need to get off blocks to stop those dump off passes.

The secondary wasn't half bad and Jenkins made a nice play on a deep ball. He reminds me a little of Asante Samuel though - going for the pick and allowing the reception and 1st down on another play.

Jackson ran well and Pead was finding what he could. The o line really needs to get better at identifying who to block on the second level.

On a side note - I think Luck looked pretty good but a lot of his throws were easy dump offs like that first play that will inflate some numbers.

The Colt's Mr. Irrelevant throws a deep ball better than most of our QBs.

I loved the interview in the second quarter: "We need the fans' help." Well, if you want my help, send me a paycheck. Otherwise, I pay for a product. This isn't some sort of community service. Not really the message you should be sending when the team looks completely overmatched by a bad team.

Fair points, there is definitely a lot of work to still be done.

Yeah, I tend to agree here. I wasn't particularly inspired by Snead's response to that one, but he's got to do something to try and get some attendance going.

I have no words to describe the way I feel about this game.
