Re: Predict next years team!
RF16, I love a good guessing game as much as the next guy, but at this point.........I don't think anybody (including Rams FO) has ANY idea of what 2006 rosters are going to look like.

Why in the world would anybody want 'Gravy' Jackson or Idrees Bashir?

Re: Predict next years team!
I certainly would. It's essentially almost the same as this year's squad. Way too early to make predictions like this anyway.I would not have a problem with this.

Re: Predict next years team!
Lol same thing I was thinking. WHY VITT as DC? He can't manage the D right now. Let alone every play.

One HUGE difference. Marmie is gone. Also, Pope or Lewis would make this offense so much better. Bartell starting over Fisher will be good, especially when we play big receivers.(Although I do believe that Fisher WILL play better next season) Also, the D-Line play has not been bad. The scheme on defense is just horrific.I certainly would. It's essentially almost the same as this year's squad. Way too early to make predictions like this anyway.
Because you notice when Vitt is taking the reigns of the defense. I really believe that he has pulled back a little on the defense because he has to manage the entire team, but when he did play a large part, the Rams blitzed and performed well on D.WHY VITT as DC?The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Re: Predict next years team!
If this was his taking reigns for D party were doomed. And our D Line hasn't played that bad? Are you kidding me?

Consider this. Pickett is one of the league leaders in tackles at the Nose position. Jimmy Kennedy is supposed to plug up holes. He has done this. Hargrove is young and is getting better each game. Little...Little is going to be better soon. I dont believe that he is completely over his brother's death. If this was his taking reigns for D party were doomed. And our D Line hasn't played that bad? Are you kidding me?
Vitt had a large part in our D against the Saints and Jacksonville. Considering that Marmie's scheme was still the base scheme, Vitt blitzed the hell out of everyone. Marmie's scheme is terrible though. The coverages just make me sick. Wiht my busted ACL, I could hobble through that coverage. The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Re: Predict next years team!
Ok I will predict,
1. First thing, fire Zygmount, Shaw and other front office cronies.
2. Keep Martz. Fire Marmie. Strip Martz of his decision to hire anyone on the defense.
3. See if you can lure Jerry Gray away from Buffalo to be the D.C. If not, maybe Vitt will do the job.
4. Lose D. Lew. Try to keep Pickett, but not for the price he is asking. Lose Manu.
5. For defense, we need a pash rushing DT backed up by a tackling machine of a Inside LB ( God do I miss London Fletcher and his tackling ability). I do not see any DT that is worth taking in the first round.
Build defense through the draft
1. Jimmie Williams CB/S Virginia Tech or if we choose high enough I would go with:
A. J. Hawk LB Ohio State
2. Paul Poslunsny LB Penn State ( If he declares) or If we already picked AJ Hawk: I would go with
Adrian Zemetis CB Penn State
3. A Pass Catching TE, anybody is better than Manu:
Matt Herian, or Vernon Davis or Tim Day.
4. Greg Eslinger C Minnesota or
Mike Degory C Florida:
Because Andy McCollum, though I respect him, should hang it up now.
5. A DT who can basically rush the passer
6. A high motor DE who might not fit the mold but he can play somewhat like a Brandon Green or Kyle Vander Bosch.
7. A punter, one who can punt for the next 10 years.
So what I like to see next year is:
HC Mike Martz
DC Jerry Gray
OC Steve Fairchild
OFFENSE
QB - Mark Bulger
RB - Steven Jackson
FB - Madison Hedgec**k
OT - Orlando Pace, Alex Barron
OG - Claude Terrell, Richard Incognito
C - Greg Eslinger
WR - Torry Holt, Isaac Bruce ( 1 more year)
TE - Anybody but Manu: whoever we draft
DEFENSE
DE - Little, Green
DT - Kennedy, Pickett (we have no one better)
LB - Pisa, Poslusny (rookie), Chillar
S - Jerome Carter or Arch ( I still like him), and Jimmie Williams (rookie) or OJ
CB - Butler, Bartell
I know this may not be the best lineup but I work with what I got

Re: Predict next years team!
That's quite a list of accomplishments for one offseason, and I'd love to see their fruition. However, it all falls apart right out of the gate. onslaught, you have hit on a must-do with #1, but it's a question of "who's gonna do it"? It would take Georgia to fire Shaw, and Shaw to fire Zygmunt. Georgia doesn't have a clue about this team. She shows up for charity events and social gatherings, but I'd be willing to bet she can't name 3 starters on this team...........with Eric Dickerson being her closest guess.1. First thing, fire Zygmount, Shaw and other front office cronies.
Which leaves Shaw to fire Zygmunt, and that simply ain't gonna happen. They're pals, who've been together for multiple decades. There will be all kinds of names come and go in the next few months, but Shawgmunt will be calling the shots all the way. Shawgmunt is entrenched with no end in site. We may be a loooooong ways from a return to greatness.
Somebody around here said the other day, that this organization has been a joke for 15 years, but the GSOT covered it up for 3 seasons. Well, the make-up is off, and this boat is uglier than ever."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod
