    Problems with Ram offense ...

Let's take a look at the Ram offense this year versus last:

    2009

    279.4 YPG - 29th
    167.9 Passing YPG - 28th
    111.5 Rushing YPG - 20th
    10.9 PPG - 32nd
    3rd Down Conversions -32.3 % 28th

    2010
    310.7 YPG - 22nd
    198.3 Passing YPG - 21st
    112.4 Rushing YPG - 12th
    17.1 PPG - 27th
    3rd Down Conversions - 41.1 % 7th

Biggest Problem? 29th in the league in redzone scoring. We lead the league in redzone penalties and false starts overall. Even a modest improvement and we'd be 3 PPG better ....

Note the drastic improvement in 3rd down conversion rate. This is likely a result of Bradford's ability to beat the blitz, which has been at a high rate ...

Good job getting the stats together Infinity. Its good to remind us that we have improved in every category on offense. I know that expectations have run high around here, me included, but as long as we see progress we should be happy.

Do you mind posting those same stats but for the defense. Thanks.

And 3ppg more means at least 2 more wins this season alone. which means instead of 3-4 we'd be 5-2...sigh

This shows a nice improvement overall. Especially considering we have a rookie QB, LT and really RT as well.

It's going to take some time for it to reflect on the scoreboard ...

Re: Problems with Ram offense ...

The overall team performance improvement is very encouraging, especially on defense. But there are some serious concerns in my mind about the rush attack that seem to get buried in all the much-deserved adulation of SJ individually.

The Rams may look better with that 12th ranking in yards per game but their average gain is mediocre; 24th in the NFL @ 3.8 per rush & there's a huge gap between that 112.4 per game and the really good run teams in the top five, ranging from 140.7 to 176.5 per game . That gap is too big, imo, for a team with all those picks & FA dollars invested on the line & an elite back in SJ.Of course, many parts of the unit are young, & need help from the fledgling pass attack, etc, but I'd hoped for a more reliable & diversified run offense by this stage. And that is a big part of the RZ inefficiency as well, imo.

I agree with the first part of your statement, and I hope the 2nd part is correct also, I think just as the players need to learn what it's like to have success we as fans also need to re-learn it also. Just because they go out and win a couple of games doesn't mean they will be in Dallas in Feb and also if they lose a couple we shouldn't fire the coaching staff and cut half the team. We've come a long way since last year but we still have a ways to go.
