SO; you think Fits will beat out Jaime"I'm an emergency Ram QB" Martin.
That would be nice to see.

I think that Anderson will make it, and Groce will be released.

Re: Projected 53 Man Roster

A name that has been getting little to no airtime is Brandon Green. I bring him up now because I notice AV has him picked to make the team. Green was a stud DE at Rice. He holds the school record in career sacks, and is supposed to be solid in run support. He was drafted by the Jags two years ago, but missed his entire rookie year with a knee problem. Played in a handful of games last year while re-couping the knee. Was released, and now we have him. He's a shot in the dark, but assuming the knee's 100%, he could be interesting.

Re: Projected 53 Man Roster

I think Green's performance at mini-camp was one of the reasons why Jay Williams was released.

As for Groce, I think he'll make the team because of his punt returning abilities (which he showed in college, though not yet as a pro).

As for Martin, I think he's a safety net for Martz in case one of the youngins' doesnt pan out. I expect that Smoker and Fitz will do enough in preseason to warrant their roster spots. After all, its not like some other team is going to jump on signing Martin if the Rams let him go.

Completely agree with Martin. I think he and Martz have an agreement that he's always going to be around if Uncle Mike needs an emergency QB. The only reason he gets that call is because he knows Martz system, so as AV said, what other coach is going to call? So with that why put him on the active roster and risk Smoker or Fitz getting picked up off the practice squad?

Yeah, I agree, although, I dont see Groce getting released because of his potential and promotion as a punt/kick returner.

As always...

Dead on, except I think Fair and Anderson will be there instead of Hawthorne and Groce.

That would be nice to see! Absolutely. Let's have Jamie Martin tutor Fitz from here to August then send JM packing.

Good job, AR.

On defense, along w/ Brandon Green, I'm kind of hoping Clifford Dukes can make the team in a LB / DE role (as L. Little did for a season). To me he looks like having tremendous potential; did quite well at Michigan State.

From Avenger's roster --

QB (3): Bulger, Smoker, Fitzpatrick -- check.
RB (3): Jackson, M.Faulk -- Harris.
FB (2): Hedgecoc, Goodspeed -- check.
OL (9): Pace, Tucker, McCollum, Timmerman, Barron, Sapaia, Turner, Terrell -- Incognito.
WR (6): Holt, Bruce, Curtis, McDonald, Looker -- Furrey, on dual assignment!
TE (3): Manumaleuna, R.Williams, Collins -- check.

DL (8): Little, Kennedy, Pickett, Hargrove, Lewis, Jackson, Howard, B.Green
LB (6): Coakley, Claiborne, Tinoisamoa, Chillar, T.Faulk, -- Dukes.
DB (10): Fisher, Butler, Archuleta, Stone, Hawthorne, Bartell, Atogwe, Carter, Furrey (WR dual assignment), Groce.

K (1): Wilkins -- check
P (1): Hodges -- check
LS (1): Massey -- check. Who's our FG holder, Looker?

Re: Projected 53 Man Roster

Martin: "Okay, Meat, take this down..."

Fitzpatrick: "Why do you keep calling me Mea--"

Martin: "Shut up! Look, those shower shoes are disgusting."

Fitzpatrick: "It means I have character!'

Martin: "Look, when you lead a fourth quarter comeback in December, shoes like that give you character. Until then, they make you a slob."

Fitzpatrick: "Man, why are you riding me?"

Martin: "Just listen up, Meat. We're going to work on your interviews."

Fitzpatrick: "My interviews?"

Martin: "Yeah, write this down. 'I just want to take it one game at a time.' 'I'm really glad to be part of the team, and if we all give 110%, we should come out on top.'"

Fitzpatrick: "That's so boring."

Martin: "Of course its boring, but that's what you're gonna say! Now--"

Martz: "Hey, Jaime, can I see you in my office."

Martin: "Sure thing, coach."

Fitzpatrick: "See you.... Meat."

If that's the case, they would most likely put one of them, hopefully Martin (Break in case of fire) on the parctice squad.
