On PTI...
Apparently the Rams are 1 out of 4 teams interested in signing Culpepper if he is cut...
Don't know this has been posted before, but could this mean St. Louis is getting worried about resigning Bulger?

Izzy -- we have pretty much beaten this horse already ... If you have a link to something that says the Rams are interested, please post it.
Culpepper to St. Louis ...??

Re: On PTI...
Adam Shefter of the NFL Network also confirmed the Rams are interested if Culpepper is cut. Culpepper says he wants to go to Jacksonville if released and his people have contacted them. Shefter also said the Rams are not interested if Miami wants a trade.

Re: On PTI...
I think the only reason folks think we are interested is because of Coach Linehan. He brought in Minor and McMichael, two of his other guys from Miami, why not Culpepper?
Right now we have Bulger, Frerotte, and Fitzpatrick (main guys). Bulger is out stud. Frerotte showed he can still play in Miami two years ago, and I have faith in him if Bulger goes down. FItzpatrick had an ubelieveable game against the Texans a few years ago, and the Rams want him to develop into a backup QB. If Culpepper was to come in, who would be the odd man out? Frerotte was also one of Linehan's buddies from Miami.
I'd right more, but I gotta go to the bathroom.

Culpepper and Linehan were never in Miami together though, so he wouldn't technically be one of Linehan's "Miami guy." Culpepper didn't arrive in Miami until 2006, when Linehan was here. Their connection dates back to having both been in Minnesota where Linehan was offensive coordinator for three years, two of which saw Daunte in the Pro Bowl.

Re: On PTI...
Often in journalism the story is generated by looking at trends. Say Bulger wasn't going to be resigned by the Rams. Instantly the pre-determined team that would have serious interest in signing him would be Detroit because of Martz. Truth or not, that would be reported.
I can't imagine how or why the Rams would have an interest in Culpepper. Bulger obviously isn't being moved and Culpepper isn't signing unless he thinks he has a chance to start. So why even report it? Because it is cheap journalism.

Thanks. That was what I was meaning to say, but I was in a real hurry to finish what I was writing.

Re: On PTI...
Culpepper will not be a Ram in 2007.
Any takers?

he better not. I don't see why people would even think of having culpepper here. he hasn't come to the realization yet that he won't be starting anywhere and we're trying to get bulger to stay not leave. I am mroe comfortable with Frerotte at the helm, and not Culpepper (in our system), they could both do as much on the field but Culpepper would cost too much. Frerotte wasn't bad but was a magnet for injury. Though Frerotte is getting older, we have Fitz. It's ironic how Frerotte has been a dolphin, viking, and ram, not to mention a skin, bronco, lion, and bengal. He's played in every division except the two southern (AFC and NFC).

Exactly. Culpepper isn't looking for a backup gig and the last thing we need is any kind of controversy or needless pressure on Bulger. Besides, Culpepper is a disaster waiting to happen IMO with a questionable attitude and a knee that he himself has admitted "still has a ways to go". He's his own agent to boot and is dictating terms and making threats in Miami. There is absolutely no upside to Culpepper. Like HUb said, Culpepper will NOT be a Ram in 2007.

Totally with you my friends. It's almost sad the way DC is melting right now. :x
