Put this stat up in the locker room this week
The Rams currently rank second in the league in dropped passes with eight. Only the Miami Dolphins have more (9) through two games.
You can come up with all the excuses you want - lack of experience, lack of offseason preparation, lack of experience in the offense.
But at the end of the day, if you're job is to catch the ball, then you'd better catch the ball! :ram:

No wonder Bradford often looks frustrated. That is an ugly stat.

I agree 100%
These drops are just part of what is killing us in games, and to me it seems like weve had more then 8 drops, but oh well.
You caught the ball in college when you were covered, now catch the ball in the nfl when your wide open.
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
I don't see why everyone thinks we don't have any cornerbacks. We have tons of them. Corners are wide outs that can't catch and obviously our wide outs can't catch.
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
I'm not sure if it needs to go up in the locker room... but definitly needs to go in a couple of lockers. : )
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
Honestly I thought it was worse than what. Whatever the number, it has to get better. Bradford throws hard, but they should all be used to that by now. No excuses when you're getting paid to catch.
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
Hey! This means the Rams WRs will have dropped most of their passes by next week and ... that past that point it's all passes CAUGHT!
Fewer dropped = more caught every week until we rank top five in the NFL in passing stats! :)
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
I dont know why the Rams again are having all these drops, Salas hasnt helped his cause in that department. Come back Danny Amendola, all is forgiven. I think it may have something to do with the lack of separation.? Players are always more comfortable when someone is not draped all over you.?
Ive noticed some of the drops are on balls where Sam was pressured, his accuracy does go a bit when hes rushed.
Keep this in mind- this years WR's I know are a work in progress but as the season goes on they WILL improve. Its almost night and day from last season, so lets keep fighting. We will sort it out sooner rather than later?
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
I was almost hoping they would bring back some Warrior of the greatest show on turf, by the name of Holt...I really think our best Games are ahead of the Rams. The Giants games was a "How to beat yourself lesson", Id bet the Ravens will not make the same Giant misteaks...this will be a tough win if we get it,,,no flags, and if we can manage to catch the balls...yes the ones right on the Numbers..we may win it.... go RAMS

Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
We dropped 6 the first week so we only dropped two this week :D
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
How did we only have 2 drops this week? Are you sure that's not Salas with 8 drops, second only to the entire Miami Dolphins team?

I think I read where the Rams were ONLY credited with dropping 4 passes against the Eagles. I know I read that somewhere because at the time I thought it was wrong. I think I personally saw something like 12 passes dropped. ...or maybe it just seemed like it.
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
my friend I do agree 100%
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
To me, it seems like Bradford has been throwing with less velocity after his first 4-5 games last season. So I don't think that has much to do with it.
Our receivers just aren't that good.
Re: Put this stat up in the locker room this week
I think drops can be defined in different ways. This stat seems to be about uncontested muffs. For eg, the Salas play in the RZ that was ruled a catch then overturned was not a drop because the DB hit clearly knocked it out. The heartbreaker at the end WAS a drop.Ironically, it was the same route/play that was dropped repeatedly by Laurent & others last year when similarly wide open. I think that may be why folks feel like they've seen it before.
Either way, it's obviously a problem that a young group in these circumstances just has to work through. Plenty of amazing players go through rookie yips including Jerry Rice & periodic spells after that as well.Amendola fumbled & muffed his way off two teams before he settled down. Gibson has really improved in that area already this year so I think we just need to ride it out. Whether any of them will become the guy who makes the tough catch in traffic look routine is anybody's guess but it seems unlikely that Salas & Pettis won't rediscover that skill which was such a key part of their draft profile.
