Any truth to the story that dez was a wide receiver on the replacement team?

I enjoyed watching those replacement players. Shane Falco, the 2 brothers at OG, that Sumo wrestler at OT, that cop, Daniel Bateman, and convict, Ray Smith (yea, like we didn't know that was Wilkerson) that played LB together, those guys were fun.
Oh wait a minute, maybe that wasn't the '82 strike come to think of it.
