Question for those in the know about "the football code"

Is it against "the code" to fire coaches (head or otherwise) after a 6 game turnaround? Because honestly, I can't conceive of any further improvement if we return the exact same coaching staff next year.

With the theme of the night being the Rams have no manhood. In that form Spags doesnt have the testicular fortitude to fire Shurmer...

I think the question should be does Stan have the stones to fire Spags? Cause that's where I'm thinking I'd start!

Does this thread seriously exist? Acknowledging that coach just led us from 1 to 7 wins and claiming that should be grounds for firing?

I have a better idea, let's wait a few days after the sting has worn off, instead of making wild overreactions.

Spags has done a commendable job with the Rams. The only thing that needs to be fired is his offensive philosophy and overall approach. And I'm sure that will be influenced by his boss this offseason.

What the hell is wron with some of you? Spags took a no talent team and won more games this year thang the last three combined. Tonight's loss was hard, but doesn't mean you throw all logic and reason out the window. It's a miracle we won 7 games with the pathetic receiving core we have.

I am going to refrain from giving negative rep to this thread as i realize that the sting of the loss is still fresh. And i am really sick and tired of the "Rams moving back to LA" but i guess that ridiculousness will never go away...its been 15 years and the Rams are here to stay! And if you can't handle that, then go be a Raiders fan!

Re: Question for those in the know about "the football code"

We'll find out more about the direction of the offense in the future.
1.We need talent on the offensive end.
2.We need our QB to gain experience.

Assuming we gain those 2 points by the end of next season and we are seeing this "conservative" approach, then its perfectly fine to be dissatisfied.

Generally a coach is who he is, with exceptions of the great coaches in the league who are able to adapt depending on talent, its too early to know who Spags is, imo.

Regardless, it APPEARS the front office is now on the path to collecting talent, and at the end of the day that is the key.

If by "the code" you mean reason, logic, and common sense, then yes, I do believe so.

That's only going to happen the day the ghost of Madam Ram possesses Stan Kroenke to make that kind of knee jerk move.

Re: Question for those in the know about "the football code"

We won seven games because of Spags not despite him.

At some point he'll learn to trust the offense a little more and put the game in their hands and at that point, we'll really be motoring.

We were a little stage-struck tonight and that's understandable but overall we've had a good season and have plenty to be cheerful about.

Re: Question for those in the know about "the football code"

WOW are some people really talking about firing spags??Is this 4real??You guys are crazy he has turned around this organization and led us from 1 win last year to 7.The loss is still fresh so calm down give it a couple days to digest this crappy performance all of America witnessed and then look at what your saying.Steve if anything need to look in the mirror and let Shurmur run the offense his way which is slinging the rock and running the ball when it seems to be working.Spags is the one that pulls the plug at times and tells him to crawl into his conservative shell. So with that being said this offseason we need to get a big time WR and get back Avery,re sign Clayton and then our offense can move from there.OL,RB what have you.Lets not start the fire spags chants after a tough and disappointing lose.
