Quick Hit: Burwell On The Rams' Loss

Quick Hit: Burwell on the Rams' loss

    BY BRYAN BURWELL STLtoday.com
    Sunday, November 20, 2011

From the Edward Jones Dome press box, Post-Dispatch columnist Bryan Burwell offered a quick opinion as the game ended:

It almost doesn't seem fair anymore. Ravaged by injuries and stifled by the lack of explosive offensive weapons, the Rams offense has disintigrated into a disaster.

Sunday's 24-7 loss to the woeful Seattle Seahawks was the latest game that showed how impotent this Rams offense is.

Without the help of the defense, this offense simply can't score.

Other than the one scoring possession that began with an interception, the Rams offense crossed the 50-yard line twice the entire game.

This is as bad as it gets. This is the third game of the season when the Rams were only able to produce one touchdown, the eighth game when they scored 13 or less points and the ninth game when they failed to score more than 16 points.

This is very, very sad to watch.

Im with you but what can we do? How do we get this offense to score points. Bradford cant seem to throw the ball downfield and no one else is picking it up. Its like the whole team has just given up!

I relate this to the problem I am having getting my truck up to speed on the freeway. Sure, it has three flat tires, I've lost fourth gear, the exhaust has fallen off and the entire belt assembly is broke due to starting the engine with a cat sleeping under the hood. But geez, the GPS works fine and I know the driver is great.

This entire thing is tragic for the Rams. Over 20% of the roster is gone. Excuse or no excuse, players of considerable talent don't grow on trees.

I don't think this thing can be fixed by cleaning house because the coaching is simply not the only or biggest problem this team is dealing with.

The left tackle is debilitated by a pectoral mussel? Not even enough guts to go down with a hammy.

    Lame.
