    quinn loses in dpoy voting

Not a surprise, but quinn didnt win (and apparantly didnt come in 2nd). Kuechly won (19 1/2 votes), mathis had 11 1/2 votes. ESPN not reporting yet how many votes quinn got, sherman got 7 1/2 votes. Final vote totals would be great when someone has it.

Its very hard for players on mediocre teams to win postseason awards. Not fair, but it is what it is.

Next year when we go 12-4, Quinn should get the recognition he deserves.

I would love to see kiki alonso's numbers (defensive rookie of year) compared to the numbers the Tree put up.

Motivation for next year. Quinn will get his recognition, its just a matter of time. Goes around, comes around.

    Go Rams!

Well, I guess I'm just glad my 2nd option won, which was anyone other than Sherman.

I have 41.5 votes out of 50 accounted for between Kuechly, Mathis, Sherman and Earl Thomas, so the most quinn could have gotten is 8.5 if he got all the other votes. What a joke.

    Rotoworld has the breakdown as...

    Kuechly: 19
    Mathis: 11.5
    Thomas: 7.5
    Quinn: 6
    Sherman: 4
    Watt: 2

Please explain to me how Thomas is ahead of Quinn because I can't fathom that.

Well, I guess I don't have to watch NFL Honors at 8pm out here in the west to see if Quinn won.

I understand that it's hard to win this award on a mediocre team, but the fact that Quinn came in 4th is just laughable. It really takes away from any meaning the award might have had when this happens. Even the article on NFL.com says Quinn was the most dominant defender this year. I could deal with him not winning the award, but according to the voting breakdown, he was barely considered for it.

So true, about being on a team like ours and how it affects recognition. King Quinn in 2014!

Expected.....mediocrity is rarely offered individual awards to players.....Quinn will get there. As will the Rams.

Re: quinn loses in dpoy voting

As long as the Rams know he was the DPOY when it comes time to re-negotiate, I'm sure Quinn will be fine.

Voting was a little surprising, but with the top 5 defense we'll field next year, the league will get another opportunity to make amends.

I have to admit the mind is quicker than the eye, or is it the other way around, anyway, when I first saw the thread title I thought is was a typo on the word "dopey". In hindsight, I'm not so sure I was wrong.

Considering Kuechly is not even the best player at his position it goes to show just how legitimate these honors are. Apparently tackles mean everything.

Clearly the NFL has absolutely no integrity anywhere.
