    Ram-blings

Thursday's game is sold out, meaning that it will be televised locally (KTVI, Channel 2). Kickoff is 7:15 p.m. ... After averaging at least 40 yards per punt in each of the first 12 games, Donnie Jones is slumping. His average Sunday was 39.8, a week after a season-low 38.3 at Cincinnati.

Since entering the NFL in 2005, Rams tackle Alex Barron has been penalized more than any other player except Raiders guard Robert Gallery. False starts have been Barron's nemesis, and he drew two more of the drive-stunting flags Sunday.

"They were critical," Greg Olson said. "It wasn't a situation where we were using a lot of hard count, so really it's just a lack of concentration. He's got to just stay more focused."

The Rams' second-half woes are reaching monumental proportions. After the Packers blanked them 16-0, the Rams have been outscored 217-76 in second halves, including a 120-40 shortfall in fourth quarters.

In 12 of 14 games, opponents have had a second-half edge. The Rams have gone scoreless three times, and seven other times mustered only a field goal.

Asked whether the players might be overly aware of the second-half drought, Greg Olson said, "We always try to make sure that we emphasize it to them, that we need to come out and be ready to start that second half like you start the first half of the game. But you hope that it doesn't" rattle them.

Who cares if it rattles them. There needs to be a fire lit under this team in the 2nd half, period.

Quite literally, you're a day late and a dollar short, Mr. Coats.

I agree, it sounds like something a high school coach would say,hey maybe we found something for Olsen to do.
