Re: Ram current salary cap and what to do with it

I say we spend it. But only on one year deals. Haven't payed attention to the free agent market lately, but there has too be some veterans left that will play under one year deals. It doesn't make sense not to spend it if we can get some quality players that will come off the books next year.

What the heck? Lets go get Julius Peppers or someone like Anquan Boldin. We've been signing our own FA's and picking up this and that, go make a splash. It's the freakin NFC West. Very weak division. Go 10-6 and get into the playoffs IF we get an impact player. Why the heck not? Backload some of the bonus so you can figure out the rest of your roster and go get someone that is going to make a huge difference.

Boldin will never come here. Division teams dont trade star players to each other... bad for business.

Save implies that you can use it next year. I am no expert but I believe if you do not use it you lose it when it comes to the cap. So what would the Rams gain by not spending the cap limit?

I would use it this season, you never know what the future holds so why save it or I would send $100,000 to Dez for the upcoming bash and I would give out free beer coupons with every ticket bought.

We need to win NOW. I say we sign some vets to a one year deal and see how our free agents do as the year goes. We still have the option of locking someone up mid season or just sign them to a contract in '2010. Who knows we might even be able to save some money in the long run with our own players.

The save philosophy is based on teams usually signing a player for more than one year.

If we sign Mr. Ram Bunctious to a 5 million dollar a year , 3 year contract then we have spent 5 mill this year but also the next and the next.

Not spending the money means you do use it this year but it's not attached to someone for next year.

This is why I support signing some one year deals. It let's us spend what we have but keeps us flexible next year.

Re: Ram current salary cap and what to do with it

Lock OJ up immediately, biggest young defensive playmaker we have hands down IMO. We also should add a another vet LB like Antwan Peek or Marcus Washington bigger guys former DE's who can rush the passer from the SLB position.

If we could add anyone I would definately add Travis Laboy IMO he is definately the most attractive FA option I really like him as a pass rusher and he also can play standing up a little. Spags likes a deep DE rotation and this guy would be the 2nd or 3rd best pass rusher on our team immedeatly. I like adding him now and he also adds upside as a starter

Lock up OJ and sign Travis Laboy now!!!!!!

I don't know this big time WR everyone is looking for.

There is little chance the Cards deal Bolden at this point and there is zeroe chance they trade him in the devision

Ill pass on drops McGee Braylon Edwards. He has regressed from his one great year he had. Avery had they same amount of Tds and 200 less yards, but he had less starts and he is rookie.

I'm not saying we don't need help at WR, but there really isn't anything out there to trade for at this point

Is Jason Taylor still looking to play. He was a pro bowler 2 seasons ago and I bet he has 1 or 2 pretty good years left in him. I don't think many people would've been able to play up to form after going through what he went through last year.

Zero chance of a trade in the division. So this has never been done before?? In the real business world this trade can be done. It's a matter how much of a distraction Boldin is and from early reports it has been esculating. IF the Rams are willing to take on the Big Contract and the Cards are willing to settle for picks next year then yes it can be done.....

I say, spend it wisely. We can always make room next off-season.

EX: Orlando Pace, Torry Holt, Pisa Tinoisamoa......etc

    GO RAMS!
