Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
I like our schedule.
HOME
Cowboys – I think this will be our toughest home game.
Giants – I think the Giants are going to be tough but are very beatable.
Bills, Dolphins & Bears - We better beat at home.
AWAY
Eagles & Redskins will be though away games but winnable.
Patriots - Revenge Game. We will win! However, I do wish we were playing them at home.
Jets & Falcons - We better win.

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
Not bad. The East will be tough, Redskins and Eagles should be beatable, but ONLY if we stay healthy and make a few adjustments.
The Cowboys were beatable last year even with our pathetic offense. The defense kept us in the game along with the special teams until our weekly collapse in the 2nd half. An offense that can stay on the field should help prevent our D from getting tired.
If Pace is healthy, it GREATLY helps us against the Giants and their great pass rush.
The rest isn't bad, I'd give a lot for us to be able to beat those freakin Cheatriots though

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
I must be in a real downer. I am having trouble seeing the positive in our schedule. Since the FA season hasn't started and the Draft is still a few months away, all I can see is what 2007 was. Lousy 2nd half defensive collapses, terrible special teams, sputtering offense. I know INJURIES!!! But hey everyone, there has been no personnel changes on the roster so far and so I can only go by what happened last year. So other than the Jets, Falcons and Dolphins, I don't see any of the other teams as wins. Someone help me!!! I'm melting. And don't tell me about the INJURIES!!! Give me some happy pills.

This assumes generally good health, and puts us at 7-9."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
Trying to forecast the outcome of our upcoming schedule is very hard if not impossible to do.
We never know who the flops are going to be and who the Cinderella teams are going to be.
Having said that, based on our talent alone.
I very much like our chances of being at least 9-7.

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
It's fair for the simple fact that you could look up 14 games of this schedule in 2002. The only unknowns were the Falcons and Bears, but you could know that we'd be playing at NFC South and home against NFC North against same place teams within their divisions.
Just because it's fair doesn't mean it doesn't suck. It could be worse, it could be NFC East and AFC South.

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
I'm not following you about the 14 games in 2002. My point was that with the second worst record in the league last year, we sure seemed to get tough opponents that include two of the teams that were in the Super Bowl for crying out loud. I thought we were supposed to get a break with the schedule along with the high draft choice.
It's not fair, it's not fair, it's not fair!

Re: Rams 2008 non-divisional opponents
Hopefully Leinart starts whenever we play the Cards

If the O-line is healthy, we got a great shot at a winning record.
If not, and we get all beat up again, I don't think the defense improves to super over one year, so we may be lucky to win 6 games.
