The Rams are 3 point favorites!

Rams are -3 vs Ravens on Thursday night with the over/under at 38! I realize this is meaningless since the home team generally gets a 3 point cushion by oddsmakers, plus its the preseason, not to mention the fourth preseason game. But it just feels good to be favored in any game after the last three seasons lol

And for those interested-The Rams are tied with the Bucs with 200-1 odds being the lowest of all teams to win Super Bowl XLV

I can't believe anybody would bet on a preseason game.

The oddsmakers probably figuure the Rams will be trying to win it more than the Ravens, and it's at home. (not that home-field means anything in St. Louis)

I'd lay 20 bucks on the Rams to win it all. At 200-1, why not?

Wasn't the last time we were 200-1 about 11 years ago?

    TRUE STORY:

I was 21 in the summer of 1999. I was in LV and down to my last 5 dollar chip. I told my friends I was going to put it on the Rams to win the Super Bowl at 200-1. My friends told me that was stupid and that I should just put it on top of someone else's blackjack hand. I told them to f off, went and laid down my $5.

The biggest smile I've ever had in my life was when I returned about 7 months later. I parked in the Mandalay structure, and for the entire walk from the structure to the sportsbook, I was ear to ear. Not because of the money, but because of all those times I took the bus to Anaheim stadium and was outnumbered by the opposing fans...because I donated my life savings at the time to "Save the Rams," an organization that was trying to keep the team in LA...because I proudly wore a Tony Banks jersey for three years...because I went outside and screamed at the top of my lungs when Trent Green went down...

I'll never be able to replicate that. For me, it was bigger than sports.

The moral of the story: take your $20 and put them on the Rams to do something great; win the division (25-1), win the Super Bowl (200-1)...it's just $20. That smile that I had at Mandalay...I'm taking that to the grave.

Btw, rams are favored primarily bc the books expect Bradford to play a half, while Flacco will get 1-2 drives.

I've got another true story that didn't quite turn out the same way.

Every year, for over 10 years, a group of my friends would go to Las Vegas on Superbowl weekend. We'd get about 30 guys together and party our butts off for 4-5 days, culminating in the big game and one final SB party in a suite somewhere downtown. Well, each year, as part of the "ritual", I'd stop by a sports book on the way out of town and lay $20 on the Rams to win it all the following year. The odds would post the day after the SB at some of the sports books.

Guess what? The year BEFORE the Rams won it all, I didn't get by the sports book for some reason, and the Rams went off 200-1.

That was also my last trip to Vegas for SB weekend.
