I doubt Clayton is coming back now.
I'd rather keep Clayton over Gibson.

I agree with the premise that Sims-Walker is a low-risk, high-reward pickup, so this has the potential to be a great signing. I just hope it doesn't come at the expence of Clayton, who performed magic with Bradford. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

Funny, if we were signing him next year for a long term deal, I'd assume that we got a good deal of production this year. But that's just me.
    I believe!

Intriguing add, good deal for both sides. Rams get a low-risk signing, Sims-Walker gets a chance to have a breakout year with Bradford/McDaniels and cash in.

    Wowzers, never expected this ...

I don't think the F.O. had eyes on Walker when they drafted two WR's ....

My take, and maybe an unpopular one:

    1. No way both rookies make the active roster. One will probably be on the practice squad.
    2. Would not be shocked if Amendola does NOT make the team. I'd hate to see it happen, but our WR corp is suddenly way more talented, particularly if Clayton comes back. I like him, alot, but don't know if he has the tools to breakthrough at this point.
    3. Many are writing off Avery, but he has ALOT of talent, and an O.C. that will know how to utilize it.

    It's going to be interesting.

I'd be absolutely shocked beyond belief if the Rams cut their 4th round draft pick AND their most productive receiver last year. Frankly I'm not really sure why you think they would even consider it. I'll give you that they might not all dress on gameday (ie Gilyard last year) but Sims-Walker doesn't exactly have a history of health, same for DX, Avery is coming back after missing a whole year..who else do they have? Clayton has yet to be resigned, and the 2 rookies are completely unproven. I'd be surprised if Gilyard makes it through camp on the roster, but no way do they cut a new draft pick or Amendola. He's a clone of Welker in McDaniels offense.

Clayton is coming back, read his last tweet ...

So Clayton and MSW are no brainers. One, or even both, of those rookies is sticking, so that's 3. I think one goes to the practice squad. No way McDaniels is letting Avery loose, there's 4. They are going to fly with DX, he's too talented to practice squad or cut, if he's healthy, which apparently he is. There is 5.

Anybody can take the last spot. And don't fool yourself - Amendola is no Wes Welker. I love the guy, but I'm not certain he's going to take a spot, when both drafted rookies are similar players. If you start spreading the outside, which Avery and Alexander can do if healthy, many, many a player can man that slot position and be very productive.

Re: Rams add WR Mike Sims-Walker

Im not sure what my own thinking is anymore, especially if they sign Clayton, ill be confused.

Sims Walker was one of my earlier favourites to sign only because of his price tag, but after the draft i wasnt too sure we would sign another. Makes it quite congested

Kenny Main's Depth Chart taking 7 wr's, With the injury history of our guys, im sure we will end up having the right number of wr's come season time.

    1.Avery
    2.Sims-Walker
    3.Amendola
    4.Gibson
    5.DX
    6.Pettis
    7.Salas

Gilyard to the P-Squad or the chop block.

Who else is there?? Robinson .. out

Can't say I keep up with Clayton's twitter account, but the simple solution would be to keep 7 receivers. Since half the players have serious injury concerns I'd be surprised if the didn't keep 1 more than last year. As far as your opinion on Amendola, you're entitled to it but the numbers say that last year he was one of the best slot receivers in the league on a team where he was the best WR. I'm pretty confident his rosters spot is one of the most secure of all the WR's.

I'm not sure I get the Clayton love necessarily, and the sort of assumption that he has a guaranteed spot on the team. He had less than a handful of games before his injury, there is absolutely no guarantee what-so-ever that he would have continued that success or that he can repeat it. I think if he is in camp, he will have to win a spot as well, and with MSW/Avery/Amendola/Alexander/Pettis/Salas the competition won't be light.

Not a huge fan of MSW. Let's see him prove himself this year.

Like it. He's got a lot of potential, and like others said, the one-year contract says "show me." The WR competition is gonna be nasty this year. They all enter camp at a fairly equal level. Assuming there are no major injuries (big assumption), someone is going to be cut that won't sit well with some fans.

Amendola and maybe the 2 draft picks are locks on the roster. Everyone else will be fighting. Everyone else has injury concerns but gibson and he seems to not be able to catch sometimes so we wll see. And im not an amendola fan but i will say he can catch anything thrown his way pllus return kicks even tho hes slow
