Re: Rams bring back Gregg Williams

This is a great hiring. Forget any bounty nonsense, it has nothing to do with the hiring of a GREAT defensive mind. This defense is going to be aggressive.

I can't imagine the Rams won't take a safety in the draft. Williams was in Washington when they drafted Sean Taylor, and I think he is going to love having TJ McDonald as thumper at the back end.

though i dont like the bounty gate scandal, i do love the guys passion for the game. Im sure bounty gate will change the way Williams runs his defense but i don't think it will change too much. Bring the intensity, bring the aggressiveness and bring the heat. If defense is your passion then this is the coach you want on your side. Good times are comming!!!

Williams is a proven coach with great schemes and instills an aggressive attitude amongst the players. I do hope the Rams are not over scrutinized by the officials and called out for even more questionable penalties.

I'm sorry, but I don't get this post. We didn't hire a seattle coach.

GW served his time and suffered the consequences of his actions. He came back and did a great job with the Titans with no problems, so I don't see any reason to be worried.

Too much worry about P.R. fallout really...there NFL still has B. Belichich and J. McD and few people keep bringing up there checkered pasts.

Anyone remember M. Vicks little woes? Hardly a whisper made of it--so I don't think it will be that much an issue in Sports News. But I do bet NFL will be keeping an eye open--just to be sure.

Not sure if the 49whinner, Captain Kaep. took notice of the Rams new addition; personally if I saw him playing "Jeopardy" on TV and was pitted against a teen and a bag of rocks, my money would be on the bag of rocks before considering Kaepernick. But if what I suspect is true, am sure he will learn all about Williams' "D" rather painfully next season

I like the re-hiring, I was, naturally, excited about the initial hiring and was disappointed about the NO bounty scandal. Alas, the guy is still a great defensive coach and I think he'll only make this defense even better. The NFC West, literally, has the four best defenses in the league. It's amazing. I also would love to see Finnegan make a comeback while we still draft another DB to develop. We don't have too many gaps left to fill to really make this D elite...it was already on its way. On paper, this is excellent news, and hopefully it'll translate.

Re: Rams bring back Gregg Williams

I am so amped up about this hiring, and remember being ecstatic when initial news broke in 2012 of his hiring... Before immediately feeling disappointment shortly after when news broke of his suspension. Gregg is one of the best defensive minds in the NFL, and I still think the bounty stuff is non-sense. IMO he was a scapegoat for what a lot of other coaches say, we just heard the audio. That practice is probably gone now though as Gregg was made an example so other coaches would stop. Time for Gregg Williams to redeem himself in the eyes of the NFL, and get back to doing what he does best: Coaching aggressive, top defenses.

Wait a second. This guy hasn't been hired yet, has he? Maybe it is more than a rumor, but so far it doesn't appear to be more than sources saying this or that.
