Bits and pieces
Coach Mike Martz kept the team on the field, in full pads, for 2 hours 20 minutes, the longest practice of camp so far.
Two Rams had surgery: RB Lamar Gordon (ankle) in St. Louis and DT Jimmy Kennedy (foot) in North Carolina. Gordon is expected to be out about a month. Kennedy's recovery is estimated at three months.
S Justin Lucas, picked up from the Arizona Cardinals in the offseason, had two interceptions.
WR Kelvin Kight, an undrafted rookie out of Florida, was released.
Overheard
"Once you get playing time and have success, you don't want to give that up. I want to be the third receiver this year, and I expect to be when this is all said and done."
- Dane Looker, on the stiff competition at wideout.
"I enjoy the enthusiasm he brings to the game. He explains it to you in ways that I understand. I think he is only going to make the linebacking corps that much better."
- Pisa Tinoisamoa, on new linebackers coach Joe Vitt.

The Kennedy injury is probably the worst news so far in this training camp.

He could turn out to be quite the bust. Hopefully not, though.
