The Rams' staff would not be doing a good job if they didn't look at all possibilities. I'll worry about this in spring. Too much still unknown.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!!

We are trying to maximize a possible 2nd overall pick. So I would not be surprised to hear just about anything to leverage that pick.

The first question that needs to be asked is .... "If we release Bradford who are we going to get that is as good or better ?"

I personally think its a stupid move to get rid of a key guy like Bradford during a rebuilding of a team. This team is clearly going through growing pains with new rookies and a building process. Why would we get rid of a quarterback who doesnt throw that many picks? Also why would we get rid of a guy when guys like Tavon, Cook, Quick, Bailey are learning the curve of our team and can catch the ducks that Clemens is throwing? no offense to Clemens he is a back up QB that plays decently at home. But if you recall the game before Bradford got hurt, we restructured our game-plan to a run and shoot type offense. In that game bradford had 3 touchdowns and no interceptions and we blew out the other team. The next game we played Carolina in the Panther stadium where he got hurt. I don't remember him being bad, only in the 49er game where we were a pass happy offense. I bet you any money if we had Bradford against the ***** the second time, it would have been a much different game, and we might be talking about playoffs, had the run game been there to take the pressure off of Sam.

"The Rams could release Sam Bradford with no financial constraints"

Yes, they could, but would that be in the Rams' best interests? Unless Rams' brass feels unequivocally that Sam Bradford will never be a guy this team can win behind, it would be a bad move. Doing so would mean starting over yet again- something I am not prepared for nor willing to do.

That said, this is a strong draft year for QBs. The pick we get will most certainly be attractive trade bait for whomever is in need of a starting quarterback. I envision us trading out of a top 5 pick and getting more picks unless there is a monster player at a position of need for us.

I have and will continue to support Bradford because of the improvement he's shown. I firmly think he is on the verge of becoming a real good player. But at some point, soon, the Rams have to start showing tangible dividends from the QB spot in terms of us being led to winning seasons and playoff appearances. Next year is year five for Sam, and he's got to put together a healthy and productive season which leaves no doubt as to who he is and what he's capable of doing. No QB is going to be given unlimited time to put it all together.

The Rams could release DE Robert Quinn next year and save 3 million dollars with no dead money. Are they going to? No......... This thread's run it's course IMO.

Other Jason La Canfora article ideas:
The Rams could win this week, or lose.
The Rams could release Zac Stacy but they might not do it.
The Rams could fire Jeff Fisher. Or they could keep Jeff Fisher.
The Rams will look to trade one of their first round draft picks, they may not actually trade it.
The Rams offense could get better in 2014. It could also get worse.
Jake Long will make a lot of money in 2014 so the Rams might cut him. Or the Rams might keep him.
