Good Luck Corey Chavous and Good Luck!
I couldnt have said it better Ramsfan16. We appreciate the effort and leadership throughout the years, but you have got to realize that only talent is wanted and needed in the NFL to succeed and move forward because this is a business. NO hard feelings, we have to move forward.

One of the few true leaders the Rams have had the last couple years. His speed just isn't there anymore. I'm 32 and neither is mine... so nothing personal: just mother nature at work. I wish the guy well.

We've already seen him on tv as a correspondent during the draft. I'm sure we'll see a lot more of him... though probably in a suit rather than a uni.

Is Spag's still looking for a secondary coach?

    Cheers mate.

He stayed in school so we wont be getting him. Chavous was a good leader but was far past his prime and this was overdue. Butler will fill in nicely if that's who Spags brings over. I wanted the Rams to get Bell either last year or the year before when he was coming off injury but the Dolphins ended up re-signing him. He is a pretty good young player and wouldnt mind him either. That's Yeramiah Bell for those wondering who I'm talking about.

Chavous has always been an intelligent and classy guy, but clearly past his prime. Good move for the Rams imo.

And with pointless comments like this, you are doing nothing for this board ...

Chavous was a respected veteran in the locker room. It has been noted time and time again, especially for the DB's, that they looked to Chavous for leadership. O.J. and Bartell both have said that Chavous was instrumental to their development ...

Sure, Chavous is aging and his talent has diminished, but he gave 100% every single play. I can't say that for some guys on this team, but I honestly cannot ever remember seeing Chavous taking a play off ...

He'll be missed in the locker room. When his time comes, he is going to be an excellent asset to someone's coaching staff ...

    Re: rams cut chavous

Question for anyone reading at this point. Does anyone know where a good compilation of the Free Agents this season can be found? And to add on the subject,

What quality FA at Safety are going to be available going into the next season?

As far as being a player we got him at the wrong point in his career. As far as being a leader and a man there is no wrong time for this guy.I wish him well wherever he ends up.

    Re: rams cut chavous

he will certainly find his way into coaching or broadcasting, but i dont expect to see him playing too much this upcoming season

another SS that is available (as far as i know) is Jim Leonhard from the Ravens, who played really well for them in the playoffs
