Rams cut Kennison
By Jim Thomas

In a move that could foreshadow the promotion of wide receiver Derek Stanley to the active roster later this week, the Rams released veteran wide receiver Eddie Kennison.
Kennison was signed to the active roster as a street free agent on Sept. 9, following Drew Bennett's foot injury in the season opener against Philadelphia.
But Kennison was inactive the following week against the New York Giants, and played sparingly against Seattle and Buffalo. Kennison, 35, had no catches in those two games.
The Rams are adding wide receiver Nate Jones to their practice squad. Jones, out of the University of Texas, was in Minnesota's training camp this summer. Jones was one of three players who came into Rams Park for workouts and physicals Tuesday.
The others were defensive tackle Antwon Burton, who played in six games for Denver last season and was in Cincinnati's camp this summer, and cornerback Ronnie Prude, who played in 15 games in a reserve role last season for Baltimore.
Also, team sources said that cornerback Fakhir Brown will not be re-signed with the team this week.

Nothing wrong with giving Jones a look. It was Jackson more than the receivers.
As for Brown, it's because he wants more money to come back.
And yay for Kennison getting cut, I'd much rather see Stanley.

Re: Rams cut Kennison
Exactly Pikers, he's holding out for more cash, and so Devaney and Haslett need to bargain with him to see how much we give him extra this year alone. Maybe one side or the other is looking for a long term contract?

Re: Rams cut Kennison
Kinda reminds me of last years Offensive line shuffle--Rams brought in who?
So why was Kennison mostly inactive anyhow? Makes sense to send a player down the road if they can't contribute. The way things as shaping up, I expect a lot of Cuts throughout the year and a major blood-letting come end of season--its just a guess

Re: Rams cut Kennison
So. We sign Kennison, cut him and lose the money we used on him...
hmm sounds like we could've used the money spent on him to resign Bruce.............
