Are the Rams cutting Bruce to get a big name player on defence

If Bruce is cut that would free up money for a big name on the D

    1. Julian Peterson

    2. lawyer Milloy

    3.Ty Law

Or any other big name to get some leadership on the D. Tino is all we have there now,Linehan and Hasslet could be looking for the next Aeneas.

Most of these "big" free agents are on the downsides of careers or big underachievers take your pick. Not one of these guys are worth cutting the staple of the franchise. Ecspecially when he can still play at a high level. This is a mistake and the fans should let the team know about it.

They only saved 1.5 million roster bonus......How much of a difference can that make when they were already 10 million under. I agree the team has pressing needs but to cut the face of the team, the best wr you have ever had,the guy who caught the super bowl winning td for you,the guy who still can play at a high level,,,,to save another1.5 million? I smell a rat. The Cap hit could have been much less with a restructured deal. I think they were just resigned to spend the money elsewhere

Seriously look at our Front Office .. And then look at the big name players we have signed lately for the D.

Yea ... Point? The Front Office has gone for every big name free agent ... The day they signed with another team. We wait to long and I reallly don't think any big name D will want to play for St. Louis... With bad D.

No one knows what happened at the end. The rams did increase the original offer but bruce didnt want to take a 3 million dollar salary cut this year when the rams were both under the cap significantly and the cap was going up. I disagree with the decision, but to keep the record straight, it frees up 8 million of cap, not 1.5 million.

There is no way the FO of any organisation, let alone the Rams, takes this decision without an idea of what the potential savings mean and how they can be used. Especially when it comes to a decision such as this which is painful in the extreme and extremely controversial.

It will mean more activity in the FA market this year, less Claiborne and Coakley, more Peterson and Glover hopefully.

I hope this gets ironed out and that Bruce remains a Ram, but the franchise has to move forward.

Excellent point, GC! Eight mil is a wad of cash to be saving. Which would you rather have.......the best #3 receiver in the league, or two very solid upgrades in the defense. Personally, if I got 8 mil to play with, I'm finding some upgrades to our sieve defense.

Now he's only a #3? Cmon be real. He could still be the #1 guy for a lot of teams. If Holt wasn't so great Bruce would be putting up monster numbers like Harrison who is the same age.

Reggie Wayne just stepped up last year to take some of the spotlight off of Marv. Holt has been doing it for years.
