Rams DE a no-show for meetings, practice

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Rams defensive end Anthony Hargrove was an unexcused absentee for meetings and practice Thursday, and the team said it was unsuccessful in attempts to contact him.

Coach Scott Linehan said "several people" tried to reach Hargrove, a third-year player out of Georgia Tech. Hargrove has six tackles and one-half sack in the first two games.

"Hopefully we'll get some kind of contact before the end of the day," Linehan said. "First of all, I've got to make sure everything is OK, and then find out certainly why he would not be here."

Teammates appeared unaware of any problems. Defensive end Leonard Little shook his head no twice when asked whether he knew anything about Hargrove's absence, and defensive tackle Jimmie Kennedy said simply, "I have no clue."

Rookie Victor Adeyanju, a fourth-round pick, moved up to the first team on Thursday.

The PD is now saying that he HAS been contacted, but so far there are no details.

Wow. I hope he didnt' get jumped or something. It might not be that serious, but also might. Hope its not anything bad.

I'm 97.387% sure he was abducted by aliens and they got a little over zealous with their experimentation and brought him back late. :)

Couldn't be jail cause that would be on record and I'm sure the press would've been all over it.

Partying maybe, if people were covering for him saying they didn't know where he was.

Getting "jumped" is possible since no one would no he is hurt or where to look for him.

Well since they have now contacted him, we'll be finding out soon....still my money is on the aliens.

Well, i hope he's ok and nothing serious. If he really was temorarily abducted by aliens then i'm also hoping that they put in some kinda chip to get him to play some real D.

I heard the police agreed the biatch had it coming to her (its a joke...a bad one...but a joke)

I deal with lates and no shows on a regular basis. Workers these day sseem to feel no obligation to the people they work with, let alone thier employers.

I phone call is the least one can do and a courtesy to one's fellow workers.

I agree, if there is something really unexpected going on, family, girl friend, whatever the situation may be, CALL your boss, first and foremost!

You're playing in the NFL, have an entire future ahead of you and so far have made a good impression as a pro, ACT LIKE ONE!

Too many brats and/or punks with a job just don't get it. They think -- or can't think -- that it's no big deal.

IT IS! CALL, the sooner, the better. Cell phones are everywhere these days. But many lose track to the call of responsibility, duty and courtesy.

Reminds me of the little saga Alex Barron had in arriving late to his 1st TC.

I hope Hargrove is fine and will have learned a lesson. :r

I am all for the aliens story......they may be interested in the Rams. :)
