Rams Defense Ranked 10th
"Ask and you shall receive." The Ram defense is ranked 10th (25th vs. Run, 4th vs. the Pass) overall in the NFL after a stout performance against SF. Even though its only 2 weeks into the season, you still have to be at least a little encouraged at this point.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
Thanks for the report, BDP. And BTW, I am encouraged by our defense so far!
If only the Rams defense players can themselves feed off from their performance last week (minus the 43 yd. scamper of course), feel encouraged as well, gain confidence, truly BELIEVE and go out there like wild Rams...
DL looks good. Definitely have a chance to stop TB. :bash:
:\ PS: so sorry about your man Pace, injured.

And to think where we could be if not for that one huge run...

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
Being ranked 10th sure beats being at the bottom, but that 25th ranking against the run has got to get better and is a little misleading because we're 30th in opponents pass attempts per game, meaning teams are not throwing against us because they can be so effective running. Low yardage totals are the result and don't really give an accurate picture. Don't get me wrong though, having a top 10 defense is great. I think things will only get better.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
It's a step in the right direction; they played very well, (aside from that one run; though I did see a lot of holding on that play) last Sunday.
Lets hope the D keeps the momentum going into this weeks game.JUST WIN ONE FOR THE FANS

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
However, I'd rather have a 32nd ranked defense and be 2-0 than have a top 10 defense and be 0-2.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
Makes no difference if the defense is ranked 1st, 10th or 32nd if the team can't win.
Think it's a little too early to be heralding a defensive improvement as the Rams have only played two quite poor teams. I'm more worried that they lost to both!
We don't exactly face a lot of high-octane offenses this season. Our performances should be considered in that light.

We need that win vs Tampa.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
Doesn't say much to me. They run on us cause it's easier than passing on us. We have a good passing defense cause they don't need to pass on us to win.

The Rams D will come up big this week in Tampa. At least I hope they do.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
In the ***** game, Gore had one run for 43 yards and averaged 2 yards/carry the rest of the day. I don't think that means they were running on us because it was easier than passing. If Chavous hadn't missed that tackle on 4th down, we'd be the 4th ranked defense right now.

Re: Rams Defense Ranked 10th
That is good news, even if it is a statistic on two games at the beginning of the season.
