When the St. Louis Rams take the Edward Jones Dome field for the regular season home opener versus the World Champion New York Giants, they will be joined by a high-energy drumline built to entertain Rams fans before, during and after games. The 15 precision drummers are from Gateway Indoor Percussion, one of the nation’s top competitive drumlines, and based out of St. Louis.

As the Rams prepare to introduce this new dynamic game day tradition, we are asking our fans to help select the name. Visit the stlouisrams.com homepage to cast your vote. Voting takes place now though July 20.

What should the new drumline be called?

Hmm, I'd go with Clive Bunker of the original Jethro Tull band and play his amazing solo in Dharma For One.

Renaming it RAMS RAGE.

Battering Rams is pretty cool. Though, as a member of drumlines myself it's nice to be called "the drumline". So I'd vote The St. Louis Rams Drumline...if my friggin computer would let me use the Rams website.

They need to name it the Rampaging Highlanders - in honor of my scottish heritage!

Don't care about the name, but I like the idea. The whiners have a pretty cool drumline that plays at their games. I think we should take a page out of the Ravens book and get a full on marching band that plays like pep bands do in college games. I LOVE pep bands at college games...the music makes games fun and pumps people up.

Don't forget about the Washington Redskins Marching Band. A great idea, IMO.

Battering Rams sounds pretty tite, and is what I voted for. Though I wouldn't have a problem with the "St. Louis Rams Drumline".

It's nice that they are finally trying to get some Energy into the building. I still think they are missing a more modern kind of Energy. How hard is it to get Nelly in there with some beats. They need some younger blood in the Org. to make decisions.

So Steven Jackson asked for more exciting music to pump up the players and the fans, and what he got was... a drumline?

I'm not sure that's what he had in mind.
