Rams finally announce coaching staff

Nearly three months after he was hired as Rams head coach, Jeff Fisher has announced his coaching staff.

Actually, all but a couple of the names have been known for some time on what is a 20-member coaching staff. The only two new names are assistant special teams coach Paul Boudreau Jr. — the son of offensive line coach Paul Boudreau Sr. — and assistant linebackers coach Joe Bowden, who spent eight seasons playing linebacker for Fisher in Houston/Tennessee.

Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, in the midst of his indefinite "Bountygate" suspension from the NFL that will keep him out of coaching for at least the 2012 season, is not listed among the staff members.

Here's Fisher's staff:

* Assistant head coach: Dave McGinnis

* Offensive coordinator: Brian Schottenheimer

* Quarterbacks: Frank Cignetti

* Running backs: Ben Sirmans

* Wide receivers: Ray Sherman

* Tight ends: Rob Boras

* Offensive line: Paul Boudreau Sr.

* Asst. offensive line: Andy Dickerson

* Offensive quality control: Andy Sugarman

* Defensive line: Mike Waufle

* Asst. defensive line: Clyde Simmons

* Linebackers: Blake Williams

* Asst. linebackers: Joe Bowden

* Secondary: Chuck Cecil

* Asst. secondary: Brandon Fisher

* Defensive quality control: Dennard Wilson

* Special teams coordinator: John Fassel

* Asst. special teams: Paul Boudreau Jr.

* Strength and conditioning: Rock Gullickson

* Asst. strength and conditioning: Adam Bailey

so we are just not gunna have a d coordinator?.... and turn or offense over to schotten?

Hmm, DC ... where's our DC!?! I thought Dave McGinnis would take on that role. Then he and HC Fisher will be able to rotate as DC every other game, every other half, every other quarter, or every other play. That is, with Gregg Williams texting messages to them during each game from afar.

Seriously, I wouldn't mind seeing McGinnis tackle this responsibility. :ram:

Well Shane, it was Schottenheimer's offense regardless of who the DC is. And I'm sure between Fisher and McGinnis, the Defense will be just fine.

If our D-line coach is named Waufle does that mean no one will get pancaked?

How many of these staff members were there last season?

Lets make no mistake about this fellas, even if we would have "named" McGinnis the d coordinator, we all know who is going to be running the defense for the St. Louis Rams this year.

I like it that our strength guy is Rock Gullickson. Sounds like a marine sargent in a John Wayne movie.
