Who gets the nod?
To me, this was a tough vote. A lot of worthy candidates, but it came down to Jackson and Witherspoon for me. Gave a slight nod to Jackson, but it was darn close in my mind.
Could I vote for the couching staff and the entire team? if you'd have bet me the Rams would be 3-1 after four games this year I'd have been taking the bet... hoping I was wrong .
I gotta go with Steven.
He wanted the ball and has proven worthy of getting it.
Hes on pace to clear 2,000 all purpose yards this year, it'd be nice to see him add 10 - 15 TDs to go with the yards as well.
I'm going with Witherspoon. The guy is always around the ball, whether it is sticking his head in at the line of scrimmage, or tipping a ball back in the secondary.
Playing the middle full time, for the first time, he has shown me he was our best offseason pickup and a great call by the coaching staff to sign him quick, and call him our sarting MLB.
Jackson would be a close second, and is coming through to help this offense out. Even if he isn't getting the ball, ( see Klopenstiens TD against the Lions), he is gaining the respect of the league that you'd better see where #39 is on every play.
So there you have it through four games;
Team / defensive MVP - Will Witherspoon
Offensive MVP - Steven Jackson
Maineram - :r
For mind, Jeff Wilikins. If hadn't exceled in situations where the offense was sputtering, we'd not be looking pretty right now. And he's converted when he had to.
There have been some really great plays our guys have made so far this season. That makes this a tough decision.
I have to agree with Bar-bq. Wilkins has kept us out of the "L" column this year. (Then again, so has Jackson, Bulger, Spoon, Hill, etc.)
Personally, I think this is a no brainer. Bulger has has been practically spat on by "experts", and so far he is proving them dead wrong, with a good rating, and 5 TDs, and no interceptions. The only QB in the league to have no interceptions, he's obviously well on his way to greatness with the Rams. As long as he doesn't get injured...he's definitely the first quarter season MVP.
Where's Bartell,I pick him.Na,really Witherspoon not only has played great, but has been a good person.I know being a good person dosen't count for an M.V.P but with great play he gets my vote.
Witherspoon! He saved our arses in all 4 games! Tackling machine as well. :)
I wanted to give it to Jackson, but 'Spoon had given us a leader on defense that we have lacked since Fletcher. I had to go with him...slightly over Jackson...
My final 3 choices were Spoon, SJ and Wilkins. I voted for Jackson with the other 2 a very close second. Jackson is leading the league in yards from scrimmage and I love it.
Will Witherspoon hands down, this guy is all over the field and always around the ball, man does this guy have some speed... worth every penny!!

Ehh, it should be offensive and defensive MVPs, it's too tough to give it to WW or MB. I gave it to MB, but I am a big fan of WW so, it's hard to not give it to him too...RAWR!
For the record, I didn't expect that anyone would vote for Atogwe, given that his good play has been mixed in with a couple of notable miscues (i.e. the blown coverage at SF). That said, his numbers do jump out at you, particulary the three takeaways in four games (remember how we used to complain about how Arch never intercepted the ball?), so I thought he deserved to be up there on the poll.
