    The post points out the Rams Braintrust may be going in different directions (scatter brained).. Would ANYONE be surprised at that. It doesn't say to limit ourselves, it says to have a plan and execute it.

    its called exploring all of your options. not a difficult concept to understand. in fact, id be upset if all they did was interview defensive minded coaches.

    The point is to hire a qualified, enthusiastic person who will build a good staff. We all make too much of the "offensive-minded"/"defensive-minded" thing.

    Don't forget, it was Brian Billick who, when he came to the Ravens, was deemed an offensive wunderkind, who "built" one of the best defenses ever.

    The reason I have been a strong proponent of hiring a defensive coordinator is that it would indicate to me that the Front Office really views the defense as the priority. That doesn't mean that they can't interview OCs who they think could make good HCs, though.
