Rams gave up 38 rushing yards.

You would think the Colts after losing the “edge” would want to come out and establish they can still run the ball. What better team to face then the Rams, to get your new RB tandem off to a great start. With a banged up defense, the reason given for an early on-side kickoff you would think the Colts would slow the game down with a solid running game too protect that defense. With a blitz happy D coordinator, you would think lets run over these guys.

Hey the Colts had some good reasons to run the ball they just couldn’t do it.

They couldn't do it because their backs are bad bad bad...

The swarming defense was there but the challenge wasn't.

Joesph Addai and Dominic Rhodes are both pretty good backs. Rhodes has rushed for 100 yards on a few occasions I believe and Addai was a good back in college. There were no lanes to run through all game. That was the best thing that I've seen in a while, and let's not forget that the Colts have a good O-Line
The Roman and The Prince. Playmakers until the end.

Ya I hate that, lets onside kick and keep the D off the field, then lets pass and run a no huddle offense?

Well, I have heard the argument that sometimes it's good to force situations in preseason that you wouldn't otherwise. In a way, I think the onside kick was a good thing because our guys are going to remember to expect the unexpected, so if it ever happens in a real game they'll be better prepared. Likewise, we need practice against a two minute offense. I didn't get to see the game, but I actually think it's a good thing for our players. I'd rather our guys get more practice against Manning's passing than Rhodes' running. We should see plenty of running plays against Kubiak's Texans.

Impressive run defensive showing; I'm glad the Colts' run offense was stymied!!

Which begs the question: Is it even possible for the whiners to play any worse than last year?

Actually, Dominic Rhodes, their 1st string RB, is not a rookie. If you're referring to Addai, he played with the back-ups.

Ah, I wouldn't count on your team making much noise this year.

I believe he was referring to the Colts, who had multiple injuries to their starting defense, a situation that could have played into their decision to start off with the onside kick.
