Rams Give Scott Linehan New Title

The Rams have announced that they have changed Scott Linehan's title for the 2008 season to Interim Head Coach.

"Its really about being up front and truthful in our job titles," John Shaw explained. "Everyone knows that this is almost certainly the last year that I, Jay Zygmunt and Scott Linehan will be with this franchise. In 2009, everything will change."

Insiders have expressed concern that this open admission of the temporary status of the current regime will deter top quality assistant coaches and, possibly, free agents from joining the Rams this offseason.

Shaw addressed that as well, stating "not my problem."

Looks like we might be in for a very long season in '08. "not my problem" wow. just wow. I have been at jobs I knew I was leaving, but that drove me to work even harder so no one would say "Your leaving, you don't care." I guess if they are retiring they do not care what future employers might think, but aren't they at all concerned about their legacy? Obviously not, what am I thinking? gorams

Interestingly, there was more to our conversation. At one point, he sounded a bit choked up and said "after I leave, we'll still be friends, right Bern? I mean, I hope we can still hang out." I don't think he meant anything by it, but it was a little creepy. I think he's just a sad, lonely old man who's afraid that he's about to lose his favorite toy.
