    Rams on 'Hard Knocks?

The new rules passed today by the owners may pick a team like the Rams, teams at the bottom looking up to be on the show if no team wants to do it. Most teams think it's a distraction and want to take a pass.

    'Hard Knocks' gets revamped rules

While the Brits decide which NFL team to arbitrarily support, the NFL is ensuring its HBO training-camp docudrama "Hard Knocks" isn't going anywhere. At their fall meetings Tuesday, owners approved a measure that allows the league to choose which team will be the show's focus if no team steps up.

    Naturally, there are caveats.

Contrary to Fight Club's final rule, if this is your first time, you don't have to fight. Teams with first-year coaches are exempt.

Winning gets you a pass. Any team that's clinched a playoff berth in the last two years can abstain from the show.

Any team that's been on the show in the last 10 years also earns privacy from the cameras.

Here's a list of the teams that have appeared on "Hard Knocks" by year. (Note: Due to various reasons, the show hasn't been produced every year.)

    2001: Baltimore Ravens
    2002: Dallas Cowboys
    2007: Kansas City Chiefs
    2008: Dallas Cowboys
    2009: Cincinnati Bengals
    2010: New York Jets
    2012: Miami Dolphins
    2013: Cincinnati Bengals'
Would you want to see the Rams on Hard Knocks?

I have always hoped that the Rams was a too classy organization for this crap show. But if it is forced upon them, I surely would see it!

Just don't trade people away with the cameras rolling, like the Dolphins did Vernon Davis. Have more class than that, please.

I would love to see it, but we all know Jeff Fisher and Snead would not even look twice when declining this offer

    Re: Rams on 'Hard Knocks?

    2001: Baltimore Ravens (10-6, 12-4 previously)
    2002: Dallas Cowboys (5-11, 5-11 previously)
    2007: Kansas City Chiefs (4-12, 9-7 previously)
    2008: Dallas Cowboys (9-7, 13-3 previously)
    2009: Cincinnati Bengals (10-6, 4-11-1 previously)
    2010: New York Jets (11-5, 9-7 previously)
    2012: Miami Dolphins (7-9, 6-10 previously)
2013: Cincinnati Bengals' (3-2, so far, 10-6 previously)

So it appears that until 2009 not a single "Hard Knocks" team improved in the season of their HBO appearance. However, every team since 2009 HAS improved their standing in the year of their appearance.

So what can we conclude from this?

I have no idea. But I'm willing to try anything if it means more wins.

The Rams are a very controlling team when it comes to PR. They stopped Tavon from going on the DP show yesterday and NFL AM. They said it was not approved by the team. Not sure what the deal is with that. You would think they would want Tavon and the Rams to get some face time.

While I would love the extra inside information, I think our young team could do without the circus.

The Dolphins traded Veron Davis? Damn, I didn't even know they had Vernon and Vonte and traded both? I gotta go back and look for that :P

The Rams should be on a show like this. When teams have been as poor as them, have continuously disappointed the fans, a show like this puts them on the proverbially hot seat requiring them to step up. I think we continue to move forward in a social age where everything becomes small town mentality and everyone knows everybody's business and the groups that buy into it and work with it find success from it.

Hopefully they land on there and hopefully it pushes them to do better.

If an NFL team WANTS to be on the show, great. The idea of forcing a team to do is wrong. if the owners think this is such a good idea, let's have them televise the owners' meetings. Now that would be interesting.

Fisher was asked about it yesterday and he refused to comment. That tells you what he thinks about it.
