Rams a "Hard Knocks" Finalist: Do you hope they are selected?

According to NFL.com, the Rams are one of eight finalists to appear on HBO's "Hard Knocks" this Summer.

While I'm sure we'd all like to see what goes on behind the scenes at Rams Park, I'm not certain that it would be good for the team (though, historically, I don't think there is a trend of teams appearing on the show and then having bad seasons).

Would you want the Rams to be selected?

    yes!
exposure for the team is a good thing, plus teams that are on that show tend to do very well that upcoming season.

I'm good, lets just improve and hit this season hard. We have young players and it could be a distraction

    YES YES and YES!

Living in NJ where everyone thinks the Rams are horrible because the Jets had a better record...and still think the Rams are the doormats on the NFL because they are in a division where 2 teams will punch you in the face

Nope, but I don't have HBO, so I can't watch them anyways.

The show itself, as a football fan, is really interesting. How could you not be even more invested in it having "insider access," if you will, to the Rams? I'd love to get some personal stories of our players, see what they're like as people. This stuff fascinates me. Would love this.

    Absolutely not.

I'd much prefer no one know about us or talk about us, until we go out and pummel unsuspecting teams ala the Colts game this season.

Normally, I am not a big fan of "reality" shows, but I would like to see the Rams featured for two main reasons: One, it will give us fans a conversation piece and two, it will expose an ignorant public to a team other than New England, Dallas, Pittsburgh or a couple others of whom I've had my fill over the years.

    I say yes.

It will not only give us more coverage of our team for us to get a deeper look into new draftees, but it will allow people in other states to possibly start liking them. More fans of the Rams is a good thing. And I don't see the Rams ever becoming a giant band-wagon team.

Anything to help sell Rams tickets to rams fans is a win.

Would be cool watching Sam and others rehab their injuries too.

I love hard knocks and find myself rooting for the undrafted stories that they key in on on other teams. It'd be even better to read a Jim Thomas report about an undrafted Safety from wherever and then get to see it and hear the coaches talking about it.

For example, Hard Knocks focused on Jason Demanche, an undrafted linebacker on the Bengals who was great on TV and had a cool story, then barely survived the final cuts and sure enough, I saw him late in the season break through and block a punt. I would never have noticed it without the show. I can't get enough of it.

I like "hard Knocks" when they are showing other teams. Its at best a distraction--and since the players themselves are likely to be seeing the show, I don't think it bodes well the players knowing what is going on behind their backs when the coaches are talking. I just see it causing too many "personal" problems

Re: Rams a "Hard Knocks" Finalist: Do you hope they are selected?

It's often a formulaic, somewhat forced narrative they spin with every team, & it's doubtless a distraction, but I had to say yes....lol...too much fun to pass up.

That said, I doubt Fisher would volunteer- he got STL out of that London gig PDQ- nor is the NFL likely to select The Rams over big market teams like NYG and The Steelers. Heck, I'd go for The Raiders. An inside look at the madhouse Crazy Al built would be a close second to seeing The Rams get the soap opera treatment.

I'd love it. Don't think it's a distraction at all "being on tv" - ain't like it was 20-30 years ago.
Maybe they'll practice better knowing the world's watching.

Doubt Fisher'll go for it though.

If none of the teams volunteer, the NFL can apparently assign the role to a team of its choosing.

Re: Rams a "Hard Knocks" Finalist: Do you hope they are selected?

I love reading about the Rams. Better yet I love watching interviews with various players and coaches throughout the year. Better still, is watching them play. Best of all is watching them win! (A rare event of late)' As much as I enjoy Ram news, coach & player interviews etc., I do not want the team exposed to distractions that are unnecessary. I will be surprised and subsequently disappointed if Fisher were to sanction this.

If we want a young group of players to become close knit and disciplined, I can't think of a worse scenario than the enormous distraction "Hard Knocks" would inevitably present for our team.
