Rams headcoaching candidates
Alot of names have been thrown around as possible candidates for our RAMS headcoaching position. Which name if hired for the position would leave you scatching your head in disgust?

Re: Rams headcoaching candidates
Jim Fassel (lah-ti-do). From what I've been able to gather he ran a country club in New York and lost the respect of the players. Later when he tried to play "tough guy" they all laughed 'cuz they already had no respect for him. Which was one of the main reasons why the Giants went and hired Coughlin. Sound familiar? It should because apparently Fassel (lah-ti-do) is a graduate of the Scott Linehan School of Advanced Management & Coaching Techniques. Let's Just Say No!
WHAT SAY YE?

Re: Rams headcoaching candidates
definately Ray Sherman..when i first saw the name Sherman mentioned i was expecting to see the name Mike Sherman not Ray!
i dont see what they could see in him even if it was just for WR`s coach(Ellard is a lot better IMHO and younger, with more passion for the Rams) let alone HC!
Fassel i would be scratching my head over but if Ray Sherman got the job the scratching would draw blood..to put it mildly.Last edited by Ramblin` Ram; -01-06-2009 at 07:07 PM. Reason: somehow spelt saw wrong..lol

Sherman and Fassel would both leave me scratching my head.

With the BIGGEST names, Cowher, Schott, Spags, etc. out because 'their not in our price range' and the second tier of names seemingly leaning towards NY or Denver .... boy, you guys are gonna hate me for this .... I almost say we keep Has. At least he knows what he's dealing with. After Linny was dismissed, I DID see massive improvement in attitude. I think our guys were HIGHLY motivated, maybe we just didn't have the talent to win ... yet.
All that said, Ryan is still my first choice.
You guys try not to be TOO harsh on me. I'm just sayin' ...

Re: Rams headcoaching candidates
I don't think Todd Bowles, Ray Sherman, or Jim Fassel should be our HC.
My favorites are still: Ryan , Frazier, Schwartz.
If they are not available, I would rather see Winston Moss as our HC then Haslett.

Grimm, the Haz, and Sherman.
I think our best chance is Ryan.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

Why are so many of you high on Grimm? The guy has interviewed for more head coaching jobs and got turned down that practically anyone in history. There's a reason for that don't ya think?

Re: Rams headcoaching candidates
Interesting to me, if a bit off topic, is that I haven't heard anyone mention Ellard. We have expressed interest in other teams' positional coaches but not one of our own. Why is that?
BTW, Fassel would disappoint me.
Schottenheimer (Sr) would bore me.
At least Ditka would make me laugh.

Re: Rams headcoaching candidates
Sherman or Bowles would be disappointing choices. I'd throw Jason Garrett in with that lot, too. He has all of four years of coaching experience. Fassel has head coaching experience, but those leadership qualities we're looking for seemed to be exactly what he was lacking in his last stint at the helm.
