Rams hire Carlos Mainord as Secondary Coach
The St. Louis Rams, moving quickly to fill a vacancy on their coaching staff, have hired Carlos Mainord to coach the secondary.
Mainord, 57, coached defensive backs for the Carolina Panthers the past two seasons. He replaces Ron Meeks, who was named defensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts on Monday.
Mainord spent the 1999 season with New Orleans, and was with the Chicago Bears from 1993 to 1998. He previously coached at Texas Tech, Rice, and the 1986 national champion Miami Hurricanes.

Secondary solid substitution...
Carlos Mainord. I had never heard of him but seems to be a sound replacement as DBs coach. Strong background.
• Our defensive backs will remain 'as is' I presume?
• I believe Archuleta will steadily continue to improve.
• From what I've seen of Nick Thorenson, he looks like an aggressive, enthusiastic and physical player, a make-it-happen kind of guy.
• Aeneas Williams, team captain and defense mainstay. Must become a part of the SB XXXVII victory! Expect Rams to increase INT's this season.
Go RAMS!

The Panthers???
He coached with the Panthers the last two years???
Although their secondary had a lot of interceptions, their overall defense was horrible.
Guess I'll have to trust Lovie with this pick.
